• Boring and a very rude captain

  We have no idea why this trip has received such high ratings. Captain Troy ruined the experience for us when he immediately started off on the wrong foot. He approached our table of three adults and three children aged 8 to 13 and immediately lecture us on how our children need to be very quiet if we’re sitting there because he would lose his concentration. They weren’t even being loud when we boarded. His stories were very boring and we couldn’t hear him very well, even though we sat directly behind him. The ship seemed clean and Bri was great with the patrons, serving drinks and snacks. Definitely not worth the money.

  Lovely hour and a half on the lake. Very informative and great commentary along the way. Weather was nice enough to sit out on the top deck and enjoy the views

  I’ve been on several cruises across NZ, but this was hands down the best one! The boat was exceptionally clean, bright, and spacious, with comfortable seating and even a kids' toy area. They offer a great variety of drinks and snacks at very reasonable prices—honestly, the coffee on board was even cheaper than at my local cafe. The highlight, however, was the crew. The captain is clearly experienced and professional, and the staff are absolutely lovely. They were so patient, serving us with genuine smiles the entire time. The 1.5-hour duration was perfect. It provided enough time to complete a full loop of the stunning Queenstown lakefront without feeling too long or too rushed. My mother, my son, and I all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.   My family came from overseas for the first time, and I booked this cruise hoping they would have a memorable experience on the lake. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to what I expected. We were asked by staff to keep our 3-month-old baby quiet or move to the back of the cruise, but the back area was already packed. The rooftop seating was also full, so we couldn’t find a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the trip. The cabin area felt very hot and crowded. I paid $474 in total for our group, and honestly it didn’t feel worth the money. I also booked through Viator without realising the price was in USD rather than NZD, which made the experience more expensive than expected. Most of the cruise involved looking at houses around the lake rather than scenic views, and the commentary focused a lot on the guide’s favourite café, bakery, and local homes. It felt more like promotion of local businesses than a scenic cruise experience. Overall, my family didn’t have the experience I was hoping for, which was disappointing given it was their first visit.

  We really enjoyed this cruise. The captain, Dan, was both entertaining and informative. The first mate was also friendly, attentive and welcoming. There was a great mix of facts, folklore and history, delivered expertly and with humour. The scenery is beautiful and we enjoyed fabulous weather. We highly recommend this cruise.

  Should not be missed.Captain was very informative and humerous and the route itself was better than the other competitors as it took you round the bay rather than out to open lake.Great value
