Preparation: Before heading out into the water, participants will need to prepare themselves and their equipment. This may involve waxing the surfboard, checking the surf conditions, ensuring the appropriate safety gear is worn (such as a leash and rash guard), and selecting the appropriate surfboard based on the individual's skill level and the conditions of the waves. 2.Paddling: Paddling is an essential part of a surf activity. Surfers lie on their stomachs or kneel on the surfboard and use their arms to propel themselves through the water, navigating past breaking waves and positioning themselves in the lineup to catch waves. 3. 5.00Best surf school in weligama! I did multiple lessons here and always felt immediate improvement. The guys are great, fun and explain everything really well. Also nice to chill on the sunbeds after surf.

5.00Before I came to Ride a Wave Surf School in Weligama, I’d had a few bad days surfing and was starting to lose confidence. Shan really helped me out — he made everything fun again while also giving me great technical advice that genuinely improved my surfing. Awesome instructor, great energy, and a really supportive atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve and have a good time in the water!

5.00The best surfboard rental on the southern coast – well equipped, with all boards new and in great condition. You can tell they really take care of them. This place is not just a rental, but also a proper surf school. I took lessons with Shan, and he’s an excellent teacher. We lived in Sri Lanka for three months and rented here exclusively the whole time. We'll definitely come back to surf with Shan again.

5.00Highly recommended! We had four surf lessons with SHAN. It was truly amazing. He is an excellent instructor. You learn and gain experience. He is the god of surfing!! For real! He takes the time to address each mistake individually. In our fourth lesson, we mastered surfing hard boards and executing precise turns. It was wonderful. SHAN was a funny guy and open-minded. We had a blast!
