Long day but definitely worth it

It’s going to be a 12hr day, but so worth it to avoid the hasssle of driving yourself and organizing the day. We did Te Puia and the Polynesian Spa and had no complaints. Just be aware that if you do the Polynesian Spa, it’ll be hard to get the sulfur smell out of your swimsuit.

Although it was a long drive and we had to get up very early to meet the tour bus, it was well worth it. We didn’t want to drive and it’s a great way to get to that part of the country. Our tour guide/driver Brandon was excellent. He explained things in details and was very helpful! The cultural experience at Te Puia was such a wonderful thing. Our guide at Te Puia explained the cultural side of things well and the dance performance (led by family matron) was awesome! We went on a sunny day and forgot our hats. Be sure to take your hats if it’s sunny.

We chose this tour to Rotorua among many similar tour offerings available because of the flexibility to chose the activities we liked to do at Rotorua. We picked Wai-O-Tapu and Te Puia, and both did not disappoint. We had very memorable experiences in each. We had concerns before the tour about how the tour operator/guide would juggle the schedule with different participants choosing different options in Rotorua. But the concerns were not founded. We appreciated our guide, John, in keeping everyone on schedule while providing knowledgeable insights throughout the trip.

Even though the weather was not exactly in our favor, we still had a great time and our tour guide, Ale, was awesome.

Tour guide was very nice and van was new. Seats were not comfortable for more than an hour and this tour is 3.5 to 4 fours each way. It would be much more comfortable in a rental car or with a driver in a standard vehicle.
