You can get on board directly (no need to exchange your smartphone ticket). This cruise leaves several times a day from Vevey and passes through Clarens, Montreux, Territet, Château de Chillon, Villeneuve, Le Bouveret and St Gingolph before returning to Vevey. You can get off at Chillon Castle for a visit and continue the cruise 2 hours later the next time the boat passes (please check the timetables). The times indicated are those of Vevey. Cruising on Lake Geneva in your old fashioned lake bateau was an amazing fun experience. The views from the boat were spectacular ! And arriving by bateau to Chillon Castle was a million dollar view! One comment: a return schedule posted on that board by the dock would have been helpful.

Booking was easy, however it was not made clear that there was a distinct 1st class/2nd class system in place and 2nd class didn’t even guarantee a seat on an overcrowded deck with no shade.
