Fantastic experience and great value. Roy and Emmie looked after us very well. Sailing with the Hector's dolphins at the harbour entrance was the highlight - but spotting seals and seabirds, the harbour scenery, and enjoying being under sail on such a beautiful old ketch all added to a wonderful 3h trip. Roy is a relaxed captain and provided an informative but not intrusive commentary.
Just do it - totally wonderful.

Capt Roy and his crew just absolutely first class. History, Geology, Nature commentary over the Boat’s speaker system just pitched right, not too in your face, but informative and very entertaining. All this while chugging along a spectacularly interesting coast line. My wife and I had a fabulous afternoon, no doubt helped by great weather, but rain or shine I would recommend this very informative trip. When the wind got up later in the journey we were able to actually sail and what a treat that was, so peaceful and breathtaking that every passenger seemed to live and breath the tranquility. Just do it. I can’t recommend this enough.
A must-do when in Akaroa.

A wonderful experience. The vessel itself made it unique. So nice to be out on the water with the sails unfurled. The skipper and the crew were just amazing. A fascinating commentary to top it off. And, of course, the scenery and the dolphins and penguins didn't disappoint. I thoroughly recommend sailing on Fox 11.

This was a wonderful experience, led by expert boatman Roy, and assisted by Emeline. We were lucky to have a fine sunny day. Roy gently motored to the harbour entrance, providing a commentary on the history of Akaroa and of the boat. He pointed out interesting geology. Music was played in a natural sound shell, formed by a cliff. We did some sailing, and saw a great range of wildlife, including Hector dolphins, baby seals, petrels and shags. It was magical to see these wildlife, with just the sound of the wind in the sails. Roy chose an excellent range of music to provide a highly varied experience. Also included afternoon tea. We had over 3 hours out on the water. Excellent value for money. Unforgettable!

Captain Roy and the crew were great. We learned a lot of interesting information about the area, and saw a variety of wildlife, dolphins, seabirds, seals, and penguins. Highly recommended…worth every cent! P.S. loved the music!

Wonderful trip with Captain Roy! Informative and fun, we learnt all about the history of Akaroa and indeed NZ. We saw dolphins, seals and a solitary penguin. The dolphins stayed with the boat for ages which was amazing. Highly recommended

Super trip in the best weather. The sailing trip goes around some headlands of the Banks of Peninsula. During the trip, our captain shared exciting details about the nature and history of Akaroa and the surrounding area. But the highlight of course were the Hector dolphins, the Blue Penguins and the seals, which we could all see up close during our tour. All in all a super friendly and competent crew as well as beautiful landscapes and wildlife.
I’d do it again tomorrow in a heartbeat!

We had a fantastic afternoon sail on this wonderful old ketch. Very informative commentary and real close up dolphin encounters. Got all the sails up and enjoyed a true sailing experience
Highly recommended, everyone should put high on their bucket list.

Wonderful Christmas gift from our daughter, the trip, weather, commentary & crew were amazing with historical knowledge and would highly recommend. The Hectors dolphins put on a great show and would do this trip again.
