My team and myself, we have walking tours and everyone loves them, our friends and travelers have asked for a food tour, so we can get deep into the salvadorean gastronomy.
In this new tour we try to discover a bit of what San Salvador has to offer, we have good conversations, we talk about the past, the present and the future as we have some of the good snacks or we share our meals.
Keep in mind you can be guided by myself, Javier, or Marcela for Spanish tours as well.

We will have a good coffee ( cold one or hot one )and of course we will have a nice introduction to the food tour.
We can start going at Kuskatan a local.restaurant with tons of Salvadorean cuisine like sopa de frijoles or sopa de gallina India or some pupusas to start with. Or If you want to try one of the best chickens ever, try the best roasted chicken called pollo bonanza, some travelers either have lunch at the first location or at this place. This one is the only restaurant of its kind in the whole country, it is called Pollo Bonanza. ( Each traveler pays for the food that you select)

5.00Great tour! The food is very tasty and not too expensive, and you get to see a cute part of the city and learn some new things about the country too. Definitely recommend.

5.00David was amazing. He not only took us to a variety of places to try the local soaps, chicken dishes, and sweet treats, he gave us a lot of information about the history and current initiatives happening in El Salvador. He is very proud of the work being done and made us excited to come back and witness some of the infrastructure changes that will make traveling across El Salvador easier to see in the future. Also I was too full to eat all of the food...LOL. It was great!

4.00Good tour to learn about food, culture, and some history. The tour stops at various restaurants where you can choose from the menu with advice from the guide. The food in general is very good, especially if you have had Salvadorean food in the past. Everyone's experience may be different because the tastings aren't fixed. The market portion was brief, which is all the time you really need on a tour. It gives an idea of what markets have to offer and you can go back to shop at your leisure.

5.00Javier made this food tour really fun! Not only did he introduce to all kinds of wonderful foods, but he also shared the poignant history of El Salvador, which made the day totally enriching.

5.00My friend and I met Javier at the library right on schedule. He gave us an excellent overview of the cuisine of El Salvador as we had our first drink sample, and then we were off! We had the opportunity to sample all El Salvadoran dishes and beverages by the end of the tour. We also received an excellent overview of the history of El Salvador and the political situation. Most enlightening! NOTE: Unless you have a dire medical or nutrition need, I strongly recommend skipping lunch before the tour. That way you’ll be able to take advantage of all the opportunities!

4.00I did this as a solo traveler. There was a couple as well so the group was small which was nice. Our guide was Javier. He explained he was new and we were his first group (alone). He did a great job and I believe he will only get better. He was really knowledgeable about his country and answered questions we had. The restaurant choices were good. Food was tasty and fairly priced.

5.00Really good tour guide and nice guy. David me around the city to some of the hot spots and we enjoyed food together. Just note you have to pay for the food (he did pay for the ice cream), as some tours include the food. His knowledge and passion is great and he really understands and is positive about the direction El Salvador is going! P.s he also offers a great walking tour too, which is worth doing…as a complement to this tour or separately.

Dave still graciously took time out of his special day to introduce his country and share the wonders of food and history. His knowledge is abundant, and his passion and enthusiasm for the country and its ongoing development touched me greatly! Highly recommend.
