  Our guide met us near the cruise ship which was great. It was a fantastic small group tour around the island. We had plenty of time at each stop and beat the crowd. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

  Our tour guide, Raphael, did an excellent job of sharing his island. We enjoyed the walking tour of Mindelo to learn history and how the people live. The drive up to the peak on a hand built road was interesting, as was the trip to a lovely beach! The local lunch he arranged was very tasty!

  Lino was an excellent guide with good sense of humor. He has lived in the US so his English is very good The no grass golf course was a sight to see.

  From our cruise ship, we were met by Paulo Silva (from Cape Verde) & Angela Silva (from Boston). They had half a dozen groups this day. My group was an even dozen, all friends who met on the ship Calu was our guide, age 27, but could easily have passed for 17, five months with Green Line Tours. He, along with the excellent itinerary, made it a super tour. One suggestion for Calu ... when the full van is outside Mindelo, road noise increases and if he wants those in the back to hear his worthwhile commentary, he needs to increase his volume as well. Stops on our Half Day Shore Excursion, which was good value, even with the credit card fee ... 1) overlook of the city, which someone said was a good start and overview 2) CNAD museum for a grand photo stop complete with explanation of the buildings and square, which was far better than the brief photo stop I expected, I had been to Mindelo before and asked to have this remarkable building included 3) downtown - cultural center, mural of Cesária Évora, carnival street, mercado municipal, church 4) Monte Verde 5) Baía das Gatas Beach - which was a wonderful, relaxed, capstone to a great tour Calu gave us much good description of life in Cabo Verde. He also sang a bit of a song about sodade, a longing for family or lovers. If he were to sing more of it, that would be a tremendous addition to his tour. We did a drive by of the fish and African market, though they were on the itinerary on the Internet, but I was much happier to have done the other things we did instead as we had seen plenty of fish and souvenir markets. At the summit of Monte Verde, al fresco, on a cable spool table, we had a fun tasting of three local alcohols plus coffee or tea from a thermos. Nice that this was included in our tour, a splendid surprise all around. Calu played local music on the return drive. Asked what they thought of the tour ... 'Fantastic, one of the best', said Cindie 'Loved it', said five others. On our 128-day round the world cruise, I organized 29 tours, reading hundreds of reviews like this one, choosing the best tour company, and then doing something they offered. Green Line Tours in Mindelo is everything their remarkable reviews say they are, and I look forward to taking more groups of friends on their tours in the future.
