5.00Outstanding!! Don't be tempted by the others who may be cheaper - we saw them leave from the pier downtown and traverse the (relatively placid) lake in to a placid river. Shotover Jet has exclusive rights to the best gorges and sections of the Shotover River by far! The whole operation is superbly run with great emphasis on safety and efficiency. It's a 'well oiled operation' with superb staff. Our jet boat driver, Matt, is also a helicopter pilot. He is well accomplished in handling technical machinery in critical environments. But he was also a great font of knowledge, with history about the area, the jet boat construction, operation and technical data. Happy Birthday mate - job well done! Whilst you can't take photos from your mobile phone while your moving you do get a few opportunities to take photos and video during about 5 stops as other jet boats approach or pass and do 360's and you get some great info from the pilot I can not recommend this adventure more highly. My wife and I are in our 60's and we absolutely loved this rush. We walked the Lake Alta walk afterwards and drove to Glenorchy in the morning, but the Shotover Jet was the highlight of our day by far - if not our month long trip around South Island. Nike - JUST DO IT!

5.00The whole experience was fantastic. Check in process was easy and quick, clear directions from the front desk staff. The gift shop had lots of goodie, we ended up leaving with a few items. Of course the ride itself was so much fun, my boyfriend and I loved it and so did my mum. Views were insane, the driver was interactive and had a chat with us. Would absolutely do it again

3.00We had good fun on the jet boats, our driver was great, it's wasnt as thrilling as we thought it would be in our opinion unfortunately and being advertised and 25 minutes of action and adrenaline rush, wasnt quite true on the day we did it because for at least 10 minutes of that was in a queue waiting for other jet boats to make their way through the gorges before we could set off again, it was ok but it's quite expensive for the results we thought.

5.00Mad fun! Good chance you'll get wet (at least a little), wouldn't recommend eating right before you go. The ride is fast and exhilarating, and the "drivers" are incredibly skilled to navigate the river. My scheduled tour was canceled due to unsafe river conditions, but I was given the option to rebook or get a refund (glad I was able to reschedule). Easy to drive to, but parking is limited. Only down side was that they were switching camera setups, so there were no pics or video and you can't use your own devices while boating.
