IMPORTANT: Participants are responsible for reviewing our Snorkeling Handbook before the tour. The handbook contains important medical and safety information. If guests do not meet the requirements for safe participation, we are unable to accommodate them on the tour
All participants must be able to swim independently, comfortable in the water, and able to understand English to be able to safely participate in the tour
Minimum age is 12 years old. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian booked on the same tour.
Glasses cannot be worn under the goggles. Please bring contact lenses if required.
We provide a thermal undersuit and dry suit to wear over your clothing while snorkeling
PLEASE BRING: Warm base layers, preferably made from fleece or wool (not cotton), warm socks, a small towel and a change of clothes (just in case)
Medical issues outlined in our handbook require doctors approval to join the tour (e.g., asthma, diabetes). Some conditions mean guests cannot participate.
Pregnant people are unable to participate due to the risk of water entering the suit

Experience one of the world’s most unique snorkeling sites: the Silfra Fissure in Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll swim between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates in crystal-clear glacial waters with up to 150 meters of visibility. Meet your PADI certified guide directly at Thingvellir, where they will give you a safety briefing and help you suit up to explore the surreal blue world beneath the surface. Silfra’s waters come from Langjökull Glacier, traveling through lava fields before reaching the fissure, creating an underwater landscape unlike anywhere else on Earth. The guide to guest ratio is 1:6 to ensure a more personalized experience. Underwater photos taken by your guide are included free of charge. After your snorkeling adventure, warm up with hot chocolate and cookies before heading off to explore more of Iceland at your own pace. Silfra is a convenient stop on the iconic Golden Circle route! 5.00Nico was my guide for the Silfra Snorkeling experience and he was absolutely wonderful! He made sure everyone in my group felt comfortable throughout the experience and was very friendly. I was traveling solo and was a little nervous about the experience, but he made sure everyone had a great time and was well-informed.

5.00It was quite a dull weather day with some rain, but still we saw amazing colours and clarity in the water - quite astonishing! The experience of using a dry suit was new for us, but we were helped in every step of the kitting-up process. Hernan was enthusiastic, reassuring and explained everything very clearly, and we felt safe with him. He also explained the surrounding area and what we could see - where the Eurasian and N. American tectonic plates were - much more clearly than we had read anywhere else. We even had hot chocolate and biscuits afterwards to replenish the energy, but didn't really feel cold at any time.
