• Don’t miss doing a river cruise while in Singapore!

  It was a great experience, amazing to see the city from the water. I would recommend doing the tour at night as I think the city looks more impressive than in the day. Arrived at pick up location at 18:50, we had booked for a cruise slot at 19:00. There was a queue of about 30-40 people when we arrived, so we couldn’t fit on the boat that left at 19:00, instead we got on a boat that left at 19:20, I would recommend getting on a boat around this time so that it’s daylight when you get on the boat but night time by the time you get to the city.

• Misleading advertising by Viator

  We specifically booked a 7.30pm river trip through Viator. When we arrived the trip operators were very clear they do not offer guaranteed time slots and we had open tickets. We had to join the queue with everyone else. Luckily for Viator we were just able to get on the 7.30pm boat but a bad booking experience. The trip itself was very good

  Absolute rubbish through Viator - do not buy!! Despite selecting a date and time on Viator, it means nothing. You are sent “tickets” 24 hours prior to your time, then on the day you have to line up with everyone else anyway, and redeem your “ticket” for the actual “tickets” which are open - so not any set time or date. You then line up again as the boats come every 15 minutes and get on which ever one you happen to line up for. The Viator tickets are significantly more expensive - tickets are $28 at the booth, and you have to line up regardless, so just buy them there if you want to go. The cruise itself is 35-40 minutes, nice to see the city, you will not see any of the light shows so don’t battle the crowd for the 7.30pm cruise. We did, and you still don’t see the light show (it was behind us well in the distance and barely visible). The area is lovely for dinner, the cruise is worth the $28 if you’re already there, but do not buy through here. It’s more money, it does not save you any time and the time and date is a lie.

  The ticket provider will state that tickets will be emailed to you but then only send one ticket. Then they will WhatsApp you more tickets after you had had to pay for additional tickets. Then they will say you received the tickets EVEN-THOUGH they specifically state that the tickets will be emailed to you.
