  This company advertised a 3-hour glacier tour, but it only lasted about 2 hours. It was not due to weather — the guide ended early without explanation. None of my follow-up messages were answered. Very disappointing and misleading experience. I wouldn’t recommend this operator.

  We were lucky enough to be led by Erin who was very helpful and friendly. She made sure everyone was having a good time and was safe throughout the experience. We thought it was a great time but you should be aware that there is a lengthy walk to get to the glacier and then back to the tour bus so roughly half of your time or maybe more is not actually spent on the glacier. There was an area closer to the glacier that some groups parked at but it appeared our bus was too large to park there so we had to do a much longer walk. The equipment provided was great and instructions on how to use it were clear. Would recommend.

  We went on a little glacier tour. My experience was negative because of the attitude of the monitor. An apparently American red-haired girl who I think was named Helen or Herren. He never smiled or inspired the group. Making the route very monotonous and boring. In such a simple activity the attitude of the monitor is everything. End up disappointed.

  Great Experience and just a great day on the glacier and Anna was a great guide. Highly recommend her if you can request guides we highly recommend on doing this excursion since in the next 25 to 50 years the glacier may be gone half of what it is today.

  I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places, but my experience with Troll.is easily stands out as the absolute highlight of my trip to Iceland. Everything about this tour was seamless and well-organized, but what truly made it unforgettable was our guide, Johan. From the very first moment, Johan set the tone with his energy, humor, and passion. He’s one of those rare guides who can make you laugh one second and then captivate you with history, folklore, or fascinating insights the next. He clearly loves Iceland and knows it inside and out, but what impressed me most was how much he cared about everyone in the group. He was always checking in, making sure people were comfortable, safe, and getting the most out of the experience. Professionalism is often talked about, but Johan embodied it. Whether it was explaining safety steps clearly, answering every question with patience, or taking the time to personalize the experience for us, he struck the perfect balance of fun and responsibility. He made sure no one felt rushed and that we truly had time to soak in the beauty of the places we visited. The landscapes and sights were breathtaking on their own, but Johan elevated them by bringing context, humor, and storytelling that made it all come alive. It felt like traveling with a friend who also happened to be an expert guide, and that combination is rare and special. If you’re considering a tour with Troll.is, do it. And if you’re lucky enough to get Johan as your guide, you’re in for something even more extraordinary. I cannot recommend this experience enough — it was the main highlight of my trip to Iceland and one I’ll be telling people about for years. • Not as advertised

  Unfortunately the tour was not as advertised and we were disappointed. Our group was big (14 people) and very slow and in the end we only spent 30 minutes on the glacier. Most of that time we spent taking pictures at two different points. The "hiking" part on the glacier was just about 10 minutes and we stayed on the absolute lowest part of the glacier. Other groups with the same tour went much further than us so I suppose it depends on your luck and the group you are assigned to. The view is still great and we had a very nice guide but the advertising was very misleading for this tour.

• Really disappointing in a slow group

  Sadly we were really disapppointed. We had a really slow group and from the 3 hour hike we spent only 30 minutes on the glacier. We walked only 10 minutes on the glacier, the remaining 20 minuted we were just standing there so people could take selfies and pictures. It was nothing like the advertised video, we were just standing on the absolute lowest part of the glacier and it didnt felt like a hike at all. Our guide was really nice though. Maybe it would have been more fun in antoher group, but it depends on luck what group members you get. Overall for us it was too expensive for a rather boring experience.

  Wonderful experience well beyond my wildest expectations. The guide, Anka, a girl rep. Czech who has been living in Iceland since 2011 was very good. Not intrusive exhaustive in patient but not protracted explanations. Really good. Then what about it we had a cheeky fortune, it was sunny, there was no wind and the group was not small, it just didn't exist, it was just me and my wife.   Gorgeous hike! The gear was great and the tour was well organized. Such a cool experience! Wish our guide was a bit friendlier though....
