Water Puppetry is a traditional art form with distinctive culture identity of Vietnam. It came into existence, developed and diversified over a thousand years ago in the Red River Delta. Thanks to unique performances on the water, this puppetry art is famous and highly appreciated all over the world.
In early days, water puppetry showed the daily life of villagers such as farming, fishing, romance and children playing. Now, the topics of the plays are also picked from ancient legends, myths and historic stages.

5.00This is a ticket service which will deliver the ticket just before the show. Contrary to that which appears on the website a person will be standing just outside the main entrance it.

3.00My wife and I thought that the puppetry work was highly skilled and we appreciated this aspect. However, we had no idea what it was about! I would recommend researching the storyline before attending. It was worth going for the spectacle, but the music and storyline confused us.

2.00Show is cute, but the tickets via Viator is a scam!! I bought VIP tickets (row A-E), then at the theater they claimed no more vip tickets available. They wanted me to have row L tickets. In row L you barely see anything and they are much cheaper tickets. I said no, and stand my ground and somehow ‘magically’ we got the tickets we paid for and sat first row. Which had even 5 more free seats!! So beware!! Also buying directly at the theater is cheaper, however do it in time like a day before.

5.00The Water Puppet show was fantastic from start to finish. I really enjoyed the accompanying instruments and songs as well. The puppeteers are so talented, they brought the characters to life! I didn't feel it necessary to have english translation, it wasn't too hard to figure what was happening. The puppets were funny and endearing, A big thumbs up! One thing to watch, make sure, if you hold. your phone up to record or take a photo, to ensure that you're not blocking the view of people behind you. If you're in Hanoi, you MUST see the puppet show!

5.00Great cultural experience! Super cool and highly recommend. The show is just the right amount of time. Definitely get the audio guide to help understand each act.
