1.00We booked this over a week in advance however on the day there was no one at the ‘meeting point’ and we had not received our tickets only the Viator voucher which is NOT valid for entry. We started trying to make contact with the tour operator but originally had no luck then we contacted Viator. The tour operator was very quick to contact us once Viator was involved saying we would receive our tickets in ten minutes (this was not true) and led us to believe the tickets hadn’t even been booked by them in the first place. Our original booking was at 2:30pm and when the tickets were sent to us at 2:45pm they were not valid until 3:30pm even though we’d had a messaged from them to say they’d moved it to 3pm this was not true. Prior to us receiving the tickets we had gotten stressed and asked Viator for a refund so we could purchase tickets from a more reliable tour operator only as we asked for the refund the tickets came through so we did then ask for the refund to be cancelled. We then received a message at 00:27 at night to ask why we had done this and I explained the above and have not had an apology or anything. Once in the Vatican we enjoyed ourselves but waiting around for an hour over the specified time - we may as well have saved our money and not ‘skipped the line’ I think we would have been a lot less stressed.
