Starting Jan 1st, 2026, the tour supplier is required by law to confirm US or Non-US citizenship which will determine if an additional entry fee is required. For non-US citizens, the tour supplier must collect an additional $100 per person (age 16 or older), payable in advance to the tour supplier.
Arizona state law requires children under 8 years to have either a child seat or booster. Child seats are not provided, please bring your own and notify supplier
Minimum age is 3 years and guest must inform supplier they will provide car seats or boosters.
Wheelchairs and walkers are acceptable as long as they fold up and can be slid into the vehicle. You must let the supplier know if you are bringing either.
We do not guarantee pickup for all hotels. Even if your hotel is on the list, there may be a chance you'll need to meet at an alternate location. Any guest staying outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tempe will be required to meet at an alternate location to be determined by supplier. Tour supplier contact details will be provided on your pre-paid voucher.
The Grand Canyon South Rim is a 7,000 foot elevation, please note this if you have concerns about altitude.
There is NOT a restroom on the van. Comfort stops are made throughout the day.
You must let the supplier know if there are any mobility concerns that they should be aware of.
Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS: Any tours booked after 7:00PM Arizona time the night before the tour date might not be confirmed. You will likely have to meet at another hotel for pick up. Our office will contact you prior to 6:00am on the tour date.

Phoenix
After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.
Sedona
Enjoy a brief visit to the stunning red rocks of Sedona! After a photo stop at Bell Rock, you'll have approximately 30 minutes in Uptown to enjoy the shops and galleries while surrounded by the beautiful views. You'll also experience the scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon!

5.00We had a blast on this tour! Sam was funny and super knowledgeable about the area and the Canyon as a whole. We fit so much into a day and had a stress-free tour. They even were able to pick us up at our hotel which was so awesome and accommodating!
This experience is a must!

5.00Our experience was incredible! Our guide, Mark S. was knowledgeable and brought the best energy and fun to our day! We enjoyed learning everything there is to know about the Grand Canyon and having so many opportunities for photos and other scenic views. Booking for this experience was easy and the operator offered quick communication. Can’t recommend this experience enough!

5.00Mark L was an amazing, knowledgeable and super friendly tour guide. The stops along the way to Grand Canyon were super fun. The private tour was so worth the extra spend as we could customize our trip! I would 100% recommend touring with Detours American West!

5.00Our tour guide, Jay was very knowledgeable. He made the tour extremely worthwhile by engaging all of us in discussing details about ourselves & thus creating a real family atmosphere!! He made sure that appropriate pictures were taken by posing in places of significance. Had fun w/ a short quiz at the end.😀

5.00My family and I had an amazing time/tour with Detours American West. First, Victoria, the person that helped me book my trip was a pleasure to work with. She was so kind, and answered all of my questions. Looking forward to booking with her again! Now for our main attraction, Adventure Mark (Lane) AKA "Driver Mark". This guy was absolutely amazing! He was patient, kind, polite, professional, funny, knowledgeable, charismatic, and an absolute joy to have on this trip. We are so happy we got him as our driver. We plan to book with him again for sure - Once you go Mark, you'll never go back 😂. The tour was awesome. Actually, it was Gorgina 😉 (IYKYK -Thanks Emma). We'll never let it go (shout out to Elsa). We learned so much history and facts about Arizona, various cities, and Native American culture. We didn't know what to expect going into this, but we are all pleased with the outcome. We didn't pay for any add-ons because we didn't need any. It was 10 of us altogether and we fit comfortably in the van, along with our bags, and food/snacks. I'd say it was all worth it because family time is invaluable and this experience was unforgettable. THANK YOU SO MUCH MARK! (Lane)
