Starting Jan 1st, 2026, the tour supplier is required by law to confirm US or Non-US citizenship which will determine if an additional entry fee is required. For non-US citizens, the tour supplier must collect an additional $100 per person (age 16 or older), payable in advance to the tour supplier.
Arizona state law requires children under 8 years to have either a child seat or booster. Child seats are not provided, please bring your own and notify supplier
Minimum age is 3 years and guest must inform supplier they will provide car seats or boosters.
Wheelchairs and walkers are acceptable as long as they fold up and can be slid into the vehicle. You must let the supplier know if you are bringing either.
We do not guarantee pickup for all hotels. Even if your hotel is on the list, there may be a chance you'll need to meet at an alternate location. Any guest staying outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tempe will be required to meet at an alternate location to be determined by supplier. Tour supplier contact details will be provided on your pre-paid voucher.
The Grand Canyon South Rim is a 7,000 foot elevation, please note this if you have concerns about altitude.
There is NOT a restroom on the van. Comfort stops are made throughout the day.
You must let the supplier know if there are any mobility concerns that they should be aware of.
Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS: Any tours booked after 7:00PM Arizona time the night before the tour date might not be confirmed. You will likely have to meet at another hotel for pick up. Our office will contact you prior to 6:00am on the tour date.

Phoenix
After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.
Sedona
Enjoy a brief visit to the stunning red rocks of Sedona! After a photo stop at Bell Rock, you'll have approximately 30 minutes in Uptown to enjoy the shops and galleries while surrounded by the beautiful views. You'll also experience the scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon!

5.00Jordan was our guide and did an amazing job of sharing knowledge throughout the trip about what we were seeing with each area we passed through. He was able to add the helicopter tour for us easily.

4.00Tour Guide Mark was entertaining but not the most factually informative Made multiple stops along the way for snacks/stretching/bathrooms Had a cooler of water (technically not unlimited but I doubt any group would run through it all) Vehicle was a medium sized van with room for maybe 15 passengers Mostly older people with some youngsters I'm including an approximate schedule of this trip below because there is none on the website 6-7 am: pickups at various locations (once you sign up they'll give you a specific time) 7-11 am: driving, with 10-15 minute stops every hour or so 11 am-12:30 pm: Grand Canyon stop 1 12:50-1:30 pm: Grand Canyon stop 2 1:40-2:10 pm: Grand Canyon stop 3 2:15-4:20 pm: driving, don't remember if stopped 4:20-5:20 pm: Sedona stop 1 (shops) 5:20-5:30 pm: driving 5:30-5:50 pm: Sedona stop 2 (trails) 6:00-7:00 pm- driving 7-8 pm- dropoffs I'd say it's more a quick introduction to the areas rather than a full experience at any one area, but sometimes that's all you have time for. Scenery was AWESOME; each stop along the GC was different from the previous and Sedona has the coolest red-orange earth. I'm focusing on the logistics of the tour as opposed to the rest of the experience- I assume everyone else has already gushed over the tour guides, good planning, smooth driving, etc. but I had trouble finding specific details so I'm giving those. I would have liked more details about the trip but overall had a very good time; well worth the money.

5.00All four of us agreed that our tour of the Grand Canyon was better than awesome - due in large part to our friendly, congenial and knowledgeable tour guide - Diane. We learned so much, all the while enjoying Diane’s great sense of humor. We would definitely take another tour from this company!

5.00Well worth every cent! Our family of four toured from Phoenix, to the Grand Canyon and through Sedona on the way back. Diane was our guide and she did a prenominal job! It was a fantastic experience and we learned so much about the culture, geography and the beautiful south west! Definitely will look Detours up again when we come back for another visit!

5.00Diana was amazing. She makes this tour what it is. Just everything about her service is incredible. And she does entertain you with stories you'd never learn about otherwise. Was thinking between this and renting a car and driving myself. Very glad I chose this tour. Definitely recommend.

5.00Best family Christmas gift! We had a party of 9 and were able to do the private van tour from our Scottsdale hotel to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Highly recommend! Our tour guide/driver, Elmar, was awesome--friendly, knowledgable and fun! The early pick up at 6am (!) was worth it to make it to the Grand Canyon entrance without crazy long wait lines. Able to sleep in the van en route, get ample pit stops at clean places for coffee/snacks and tons of beautiful scenery in the process. Elmar knew the best spots to stop, gave us enough time to tour on our own and was able to pivot around traffic spots. The ending in Sedona overlooking the beautiful red rocks during sunset was a highlight! Then, pulling back into our hotel after watching the beautiful skies turn into night was a wonderful ending! All in all a 13 hour day, door-to-door made the extra fee for a private van the perfect family event!
