Arizona state law requires children under 8 years to have either a child seat or booster. Child seats are not provided, please bring your own and notify supplier
Minimum age is 3 years and guest must inform supplier they will provide car seats or boosters.
Wheelchairs and walkers are acceptable as long as they fold up and can be slid into the vehicle. You must let the supplier know if you are bringing either.
We do not guarantee pickup for all hotels. Even if your hotel is on the list, there may be a chance you'll need to meet at an alternate location. Any guest staying outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tempe will be required to meet at an alternate location to be determined by supplier. Tour supplier contact details will be provided on your pre-paid voucher.
The Grand Canyon South Rim is a 7,000 foot elevation, please note this if you have concerns about altitude.
There is NOT a restroom on the van. Comfort stops are made throughout the day.
You must let the supplier know if there are any mobility concerns that they should be aware of.
Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS: Any tours booked after 7:00PM Arizona time the night before the tour date might not be confirmed. You will likely have to meet at another hotel for pick up. Our office will contact you prior to 6:00am on the tour date.

After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.
Sedona
Enjoy a brief visit to the stunning red rocks of Sedona! After a photo stop at Bell Rock, you'll have approximately 30 minutes in Uptown to enjoy the shops and galleries while surrounded by the beautiful views. You'll also experience the scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon!

5.00My girlfriend and I did the Grand Canyon and Sedona tour from Phoenix on 12/15. Our tour guide Jay was awesome. Immediately he got everyone in the small van talking and was dropping interesting information about Phoenix all day. Any question or any problem that anyone in the group had Jay made it a priority to make sure that question or problem was answered as soon as he could. However, we did have one couple in our group that was an absolute problem, arguing with each other all day and making rude comments throughout the trip. Jay handled this with absolute professionalism. He ignored every rude comment they made about his driving even though he was a great driver and I felt safe all day. If I ever go on a trip via detours again I will request Jay because he made this trip that much more special.

5.00An amazing tour of the Grand Canyon and Sedona area. Our guide, Mark H, was outstanding—kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and always checking in to make sure everyone in the group was comfortable and having a great time. I don’t usually enjoy long car journeys, but there was so much to see and do, and Mark kept us well informed about upcoming stops and what to expect, which made the time fly by. I also tend to get motion sickness, but I felt completely fine in the spacious, comfortable van. Although it was a long day (12–13 hours), it was absolutely worth it and made my business trip to Arizona unforgettable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, especially solo female travelers—I felt extremely safe throughout. Mark was genuinely interested in making sure everyone had a great time in Phoenix as well, even offering personalized food recommendations near where each of us was staying. I followed Mark's recommendation for in and out burger, it was delicious ! Thanks again Mark H!

5.00My wife Joyce was celebrating her birthday for this trip; we went on the day tour to Sedona from Scottsdale and it was fantastic. The bus was so great, clean, on time, comfortable, and provided water. Mark H. was our guide and he was exceptional. Informative, considered everyone, good amount of info, good timing at each site, and right amount of stops. He’s so friendly, good vibe, and even played good music to get us into the Sedona vibe. Sedona is spectacular and the energy can be felt. Thank you for the great day. I highly recommend. We had a fantastic experience with Detours American West! From the start, communication was clear and easy—every detail was handled smoothly. Even though we needed to go to a nearby hotel for an early pickup, the process was seamless. Our driver, MARK H., was outstanding. He was on time, truly knowledgeable, and kept the ride engaging with his explanations along the way. The van was spotless, had large windows for great views, and the air conditioning kept us comfortable throughout the day. Sedona was by far the highlight—the breathtaking red rock scenery, the charming shopping district, and great food made it unforgettable. It was a full day, but well-paced with plenty of stops and time to explore. The price point felt just right for the value we received. Overall, we couldn’t be more pleased and highly recommend this tour. We’re already looking forward to booking another Detours trip on our next Grand Canyon visit!

Long Day Grand Canyon Trip.

5.00We enjoyed the tour. Our driver/guide Aldo did a great job showing us Sedona and two spots at the Grand Canyon. He also made several rest stops at clean places and even took us to a special pie bakery on the way home. This is a very long day (about 13 hours from Scottsdale). Aldo kept us on time and on schedule. He provided a great soundtrack of blues when he was not providing tour narration.
The Grand Canyon is Majestic, but our Guide (Aldo) was a Nightmare. Detours, please read this.

1.001/5 Stars (If I could give the location 5 stars and the guide 0, I would). I am writing this feeling absolutely gutted. My wife and I are from Illinois and also toured Antelope Canyon with Detours (guided by Mark Lane). That experience was perfection. This experience, however, left us feeling humiliated, unsafe, and discriminated against. The Good (Before it went wrong): The Location: The Grand Canyon is a spiritual, core-memory experience. 5/5. The Company: Rachel (on the phone) is a gem, and Detours is fantastic as a company. This review is strictly about our guide, Aldo. Why this was the worst tour experience of our lives: 1. Dangerous & Rash Driving: Aldo decided to go "off-route" onto a mountain trail that had ice warnings from a snowstorm the previous day. While he claimed it was for the "view," it resulted in 20 minutes of sheer panic as he navigated sharp bends on icy roads. Later, on the highway, he was visibly doing 70+ in 55 zones. I travel with my family often on the road in our car; I know the difference between efficient driving and reckless driving. Aldo is reckless. 2. Verbal Abuse & Humiliation: The atmosphere in the van was hostile. My wife and I were delayed by exactly two minutes at a stop. When we boarded, Aldo announced to the van that the "troublemakers" had arrived. When I asked if he meant us, he said "Yes." He then aggressively told us that if we wanted to run on our own time, we should "book a private tour," and if we couldn't afford that, we had to listen to him. He cited his Air Force background as a threat regarding punctuality. It was condescending, demeaning, and felt like he was shaming us based on his perception of our wealth. Money Shaming: He made a similar comment to an elderly couple. When the lady declined a helicopter tour due to fear and cost, Aldo snapped that "nobody does anything for free" and "you only get to do things if you pay." It was heartless. 3. Discrimination & Racism: Passing a Buddhist temple, Aldo joked that it looked like a "Chinese Restaurant" and that people go in expecting food but realize it’s not. It was a distasteful, culturally insensitive joke about a place of worship. Targeting Passengers: He yelled at a Chinese passenger for taking a video through the sunroof (while seated behind the driver), claiming it was "distracting," yet he had no issue engaging in other distractions himself. One of which was scrolling through his chat messages on his phone, while driving, to show a picture of a roadrunner that he spotted recently. It felt targeted and uncomfortable to be scrolling your mobile while driving at such high speeds. 4. The Hypocrisy: After berating us for being two minutes late, Aldo stopped the van for 15-20 minutes at a place called "Pie Box" on the way back—not for a bathroom break, but because his kids wanted him to pick up a coconut pie. Apparently, our time is worthless, but his personal errands are mandatory. We literally had a bathroom break sometime ago and nobody requested him to stop the van either. 5. Lack of Comfort: He claimed the AC only had "Too Hot" or "Too Cold" settings and kept it on "Too Hot" (likely because he was sneezing and sick), turning the van into a hotbox. Having been on a similar van model with Mark Lane, I know the climate control works fine. He lied to us. 6. As a guide: Aldo provided us with very minimal/useless/incorrect information as a guide. Trivia like how a roundabout is also called a rotary, about how mountains are formed by soil erosion etc. There was nothing about the Grand Canyon that was shared with us (except for his 2 raven friends who always visit him). To Detours Management: You have a 5-star reputation, but Aldo is a liability. He made us feel small, poor, and unsafe. We love your company, but we will never step foot in a van with him again.
