  We were sceptical about booking a travel company with driver online but after extensive research we decided to go with Sri Lanka Personal Tour Drivers. Best decision we made! From the start Ishan and Celine were helpful and communicative and assisted putting our itinerary together for us, making suggestions and answering questions. All communication was done by WhatsApp which was simple and quick. We arrived just before the cyclone and were in Kandy when the landslides and floods happened. We would have been completely lost without our driver Fawhan and his local knowledge. He really looked after us and kept us safe, his priority always being that we enjoyed our holiday. It was certainly an unplanned experience seeing the devastation up close and what these people are dealing with and quite confronting. Our itinerary changed due to the severe weather conditions and we couldn’t get to Nanu Oya and Ella as planned so after an extra few nights in Kandy we headed south when it was safe. Fawhan organised hotel accommodation for us as we couldn’t access the hotel we booked. He stopped to show us special sights and ensured everything was ok at each hotel before leaving for the night. He was always available when needed and just a message or a phone call away. We were sad to say goodbye to him as he headed home (Kandy) to assist with the cleanup.   We had a great experience with this company and our driver Irfan was amazing. The trip was organised and our driver would handle things seamlessly for us. Our trip unfortunately was during a cyclone in Sri Lanka but Irfan made sure we were very safe and had discussed with our final hotel and learned that it would not be accessible due to flooding. He then helped us to find another accommodation with his local knowledge. Without him we would have been in a terrible situation. Throughout the trip he was very flexible, always on time and arranged things with minimal input from us. Thank you!

  Had an amazing 9 days travelling around south west Sri Lanka with my friend and our tour guide/driver, Mahesh, who was exceptionally attentive, considerate when we wanted to stop and very informative at all times. Would definitely recommend him.

  We had the best experience with this driving company, and especially with our driver, Feroze. Our trip happened to fall during a cyclone that caused major flooding and landslides throughout Sri Lanka, which meant we had to constantly adjust our plans, switch destinations, and reroute for safety. Despite all the unexpected changes, Feroze handled everything with so much patience, flexibility, and calm. He was incredibly sweet, friendly, and always had a smile on his face, even when picking us up at 4:30 AM for early excursions. He made us feel safe and cared for the entire time, and he always kept us updated on road conditions, weather issues, and alternative routes. Honestly, we were lucky not to get caught in the worst of the storm — and a big part of that was thanks to his awareness and excellent decision-making. The company itself was also extremely accommodating. We had to make several last-minute changes due to the weather, and they were always understanding, responsive, and willing to help us adjust our itinerary on the fly. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience during such an unpredictable week. Highly recommend both the company and Feroze if you want a safe, kind, and professional driver in Sri Lanka.

  This has been such a great and convenient experience. Our personal driver (Ishak) was fantastic and took us to every place we wanted to go. When we need him to drop us off or pick us up from somewhere all we need to do is call or text as simple as that. It was a great service.

  We did an 11-day tour round the south of the island. Our driver, Sifan, was great, skillfully handling some very rough roads and poor weather along with providing us with lots of useful tips and recommendations about where to go and what to do. Would definitely recommend.

  I really wanted to create my own plan but with the advantage of not having to worry about getting from one place to another or unsafe road conditions. Isham made this all possible, he was always on time and if needed gave suggestions on where to go and when. Having a driver really helped making this a nice worry free vacation.

  We have just finished a 20 day tour of Sri Lanka on which we were well supported by our SLPTD car and driver(s). Unfortunately our original driver Sam fell ill a couple of days in to the trip but was replaced by Chathura with little disruption. Chathura was a very good driver and although I had booked most of our accomodation and key activities, he added very positively to our trip - for instance the tour guide he organised for our Sigiriya climb was very good. Chathura was very helpful, friendly and amusing throughout our many km's. And despite us heading to lesser known parts such as Gal Oya, he seemed always to have been there before us! We opted for the Honda Vettel which was a "premium" vehicle and it was quite comfortable. Mind you we only had 2 carry on suitcases and small backpacks which fitted OK, not sure how you would go if travelling with larger luggage. Chathura said he normally drives a Prius which might be a bigger. SLPTD checked in a couple of times but it was largely Chathura's efforts that made it a success. The only negative was that we did not know who our driver would be until 1/2 day before we left which I found a bit disconcerting and limited any pre-planning interaction with him on our itinerary. Sam in particular didn't seem very happy that most activities and tour guides were already arranged. I understand that they do have a "full" service where they will sort out an itinerary for you but that's not what we were after - I like to plan! So 5 stars for Chathura, but probably 4 stars otherwise.

  We spent 8 days travelling around Sri Lanka with Nuwan as our driver, and he was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He made tons of great recommendations along the way—places to visit, local experiences, restaurants, and hidden gems we would never have found on our own. What really made the trip special was how much effort he put into making us feel welcome. When we mentioned that we really value trying local and drinks, he was constantly buying local fruits for us, he joined us for drinks on several evenings (always by our invitation!) and he even brought us homemade food prepared by his wife, which was such a thoughtful gesture. He’s professional, knowledgeable, fun, gave us our space when needed and was genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible experience. If you're planning a trip around Sri Lanka, we couldn’t recommend Nuwan more highly. He truly made our holiday unforgettable.
