Recently started service so I imagine the process will get smoother over time. That said, here is what you get: 1. The location is a 100 year old Japanese house with a beautiful garden. It's not so far from the station and is pretty easy to find. Not many turns and the map from Google is quite clear - just make sure you o go around the corner (left) until you see the sign (see photos) 2. The sushi chef is the real deal. His credentials check out and although his English isn't perfect, he speaks enough and is very good at showing/demonstrating the sushi making process which is the easiest way to follow anyways. The fish was amazing. Fresh and delicious; you can tell he picked choice cuts of meat for the lesson. 3. After learning how to make proper sushi, out comes the sake. Another knowledgeable instructor will present a few different types of sake for you to try. I'm not sure if they will be the same everytime, but the 3 that I tried were all fantastic and so different that I'm sure even people who aren't huge fans will find something they like! Overall, the experience was fantastic. The whole Kamakura area is fantastic for spending a day at - the Great Buddha, other temples and Shrines, the cafes and other shops around town, and I think this sort of experience that could make it an even more satisfying day trip. That said, the quality of the course and the experience itself is definitely worth the short trip from Tokyo!
