Castelmola Sicily is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, at 550 meters above sea level. We will wind up in its panoramic square, where we will be surprised by the view, on one side, of Mount Etna- the highest active volcano in Europe. We stop also at local cafès to taste the typical sweet almond wine.

5.00The journey to castelmola and Taormina is amazing as you travel along the beautiful coastline and winding roads up the mountains through many tunnels and roads elevated above the houses.

5.00Beautiful Towns, I imagine stunning scenery on a dry day. Yes we had heavy rain all through out the tour. Our tour guide Margarita (not correct spelling) she was great, good English, witty, and bought some fun to an otherwise miserable wet day. Should I have stayed on the ship, probably. It was that wet, shoes still don’t fit, backpack got soaked. Umbrella sort of useless. Would highly recommend this tour, just watch the weather, forecast said only 1 mm of rain forecast, they were wrong.

5.00First, my original excursion was canceled due to not enough people. But boy did they deliver on a replacement. Comfortable drive. Small intimate group. Knowledgeable guide. They were so nice and friendly. The boat ride was smooth and gorgeous. Got closer to the caves that I expected. The town was great and the amphitheater was a religious experience. We got to cut the line which was great. The only negative is I wish I had more time in the town.
