In the northernmost region of Vietnam, Ha Giang is a remote destination that has been open to tourism for only a few years. With a population of just over 700,000 people, this is one of Vietnam’s poorest places, and it shows—not because it is decrepit or run-down, but just the opposite—not being reliant on a strong economy has kept the area pristine and preserved, virtually untouched by the harmful effects of mass tourism and big industries.

The region boasts nature as you have probably never seen it. Massive limestone walls, granite outcrops everywhere, hanging valleys, rice terraces climbing to the clouds, and winding roads carved into the mountainsides.

My tour was 4 days 3 nights and it was amazing. It was only me and my tour guide Con, everyone else on my tour cancelled last minute due to visa issues. So I got a private tour. He is one of the most genuine people I have met in Vietnam and I couldn’t be happier with the tour. I suggest you drive yourself because it’s better experience. Ha Giang Adventures keeps tours small I heard before that it was 6-8 people maximum. I got very lucky that every other person cancelled and it was only me and Con the whole time. The homestays were absolutely breathtaking. And you stop at places that the bigger hostel tours do not. Amazing 10/10 PLEASE TRY AND GET CON AS YOUR TOUR GUIDE!!!

We had an amazing experience with Phong as our guide for the Ha Giang Loop! He was incredibly informative and helpful, offering interesting insights and facts about each of the attractions we visited. The ride itself was beautiful, especially at the end of September when the weather was just perfect for riding. I highly recommend doing this trip in a small group, as it gives you the flexibility and freedom to stop where you want. It was just me, my friend, and Phong, which made the experience feel very personal and customizable. One area for improvement would be the comfort of the motorcycles, as they could be a bit more comfortable for long stretches. Overall, it was a memorable adventure, and I would definitely recommend it!

Unbelievable experience from start to finish. The homestays were in some of the most breathtaking locations I’ve ever seen, all while being clean and having great food. I recommend to anyone to sign up and if you’re up for the adventure, rent the 50cc bikes and drive yourself!
An amazing and special experience, the best accommodations and a lot of fun!

This was AMAZING! Would 100% recommend. It turned out I was the only person in the group, so it was basically a private tour. My guide Phong was super kind and spoke English very well, so we chatted and laughed a lot. The best thing was the homestays/places you sleep at night. They are a little more secluded and you have beautiful views (without spoiling it: night 2 was just mindblowing!!!) I drove myself, which was really cool, so if you feel comfortable that is a good option. I would do it all again! (3 nights 4 days in august).
