The traditional Rajasthani art of Udaipur is world famous. Only in Udaipur can you have the experience of learning miniature painting techniques handed down through generations of artists.

We will show you the traditional materials and techniques used to create the miniature art for which Udaipur is famous. We will show you how to paint with natural mineral colours on paper, using squirrel-hair or camel-hair brushes. You will create your own paintings that you will take home as a unique souvenir! You will be guided by an expert artist throughout the class. Breaks for tea/water can be taken as needed. Please allow 1½ - 2 hours for the class. And don't forget to bring your camera or phone! Please note that while we try to be flexible, normal hours for classes are between 9.30am-11.30am and 2.30pm-4pm every day.

The team not only showcased their beautiful in-house miniature paintings but also shared the rich history and traditions behind this intricate art form. It truly felt like a privilege to gain insight into a craft that has been passed down through generations. I also had the chance to try my hand at miniature painting, which made the visit even more memorable. The gallery’s location is peaceful and serene—tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Udaipur’s old city—making it a perfect escape for art lovers. Overall, it was an exceptional experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Udaipur, especially solo travelers looking for unique and meaningful activities.

5.00It was for my birthday eve. It not only was a great and unique experience but also I had a wonderful time learning. I am all for artistic stuff and they explained it with patience and knowledge. I even ended up buying the art supplies for myself. If you are in Udaipur, you should visit them, they are very welcoming and helpful.

5.00Amazing experience painting with Jeetu after seeing his incredible paintings in the collection and learning about the history of the establishment from the owner - great to see artists cutting out the middlemen and promoting their own art! After trying it, you gain even more appreciation for the skill required to create these pieces. We also got great prices for beautiful and quality pieces of art. Would highly recommend.

That’s because you’re accompanied along the way by your passionate painting teacher. Must do if you’re in Udaipur if you want to try some of the local crafts
