Good wine tasting experience

4.00It was a fun day of wine tasting at 2 locations. The first stop was amazing as they walked us thru the vineyards (even tho they are “sleeping” right now). Showed us their crush facility, then all the different barrels used in their fermentation and aging process. Then on to tasting their wines. Their Brunellos were amazing and got to taste a few of them along with their Super Tuscan. Next we had lunch at a local restaurant in Pienza. The food was incredible. Tried the local Pici pasta with wild boar sauce. Recommend if you have tried it. Then on to Montepulciano. The place we tasted at has a lot of deep history with under ground caves and ancient pieces to look at. Their wine was great as well and served with several different pairings of snacks. It was great that they offered free shipping to USA on a case or more. The only downside of the trip that we had is that since we decided to order some wine, we didn’t have time to look around town more or climb to the top to look at what we heard were some incredible views. It would have been great to have a little more time for viewing. Either the tour company giving 30 minutes more or working with the winery to reduce the amount of showing around their caves before the wine tasting.

5.00A wonderful experience. With just 3 couples we were able to get more individual attention at the wineries. Both were very good and we had enough time to enjoy ourselves. And the scenery was incredible. Highly recommend.

5.00Lots of wine selections to choose from. Great tour of the underground city. Allysa was a perfect tour guide and very knowledgeable about the different wines she chose. Our bus driver Sylvana was pleasant and had lots of history and folk lore to tell. There is a story about the white and black chicken.

5.00Fantastic, what a fun excursion to the wine country in Tuscany. This was a small group who after the first wine tasting at a beautiful vineyard we all became friends. The guide was fun. We had a lot of laughs. We enjoyed quality wines, cheeses and the pairings perfect. The underground experience was unique. Highly, highly recommended this tour. Probably the best wine testing experience I’ve ever had and I’ve been to many.

5.00We had a wonderful driver/guide. He was pleasant and informative. The wineries were great loved the first one more than the second. The Resturant for lunch had delicious food and the scenery was gorgeous. We would highly recommend this tour to others.

4.00Montepulciano was amazing! Excellent wine expert guide. Loved the underground facility. The actual wine tasting was in a rock cavern and just perfect. Bought the wine! The Montalcino experience was disappointing as the wine tasting was held in the reception area off to the side room. There were two tables both with tastings. Too loud to hear. The the clean up crew started removing glassware and plates. One again too loud to hear the guide. Wine was poured quickly into the five glasses at once and since you could not hear you were on your own. Don’t want to completely diss the place as it is run by women and I respect that! Mike the driver was fabulous and very knowledgeable!
