This popular tour stops at 15 destinations so you can explore the island at your own pace, and includes return ferry tickets to and from the island. Upon arrival, exit Waiheke Island’s Mātiatia Ferry Terminal and catch the Hop-On Hop-Off Explorer Bus. The bus stops at a selection of top vineyards, restaurants, shops, art galleries, beaches and nature walks. Quick and convenient way to get around the island. Drivers and assistants were very friendly and provided nice commentary on the wineries and locations we passed while driving. The website map showing bus location was missing several busses but did not cause any major issues as most arrived within the expected timeline. Make sure to check what times the wineries open as the busses start an hour or two before most open

The hop on and hop on buses were for the most part on time. They went to all the places you want to see for the island. Comfortable seats. Informative drivers. I recommend using this to get around at your own pace.

You can get on a public transit bus much faster than the hop on hop off bus. We waited in a long line in the sun. The first bus came only took about half the line and then there were supposed to be another bus in eight minutes, but it was, another 25 minutes. Take the public transportation they move regularly all over the island.

A great way to see the island at a much more reasonable cost than cruise shore excursions or private tours. The buses were newer, comfortable, air conditioned and had well informed drivers. Driving was excellent on steep, winding roads. They pick up at any of the convenient 15+ spots every 20 minutes. Highly recommend!

We took the ferry over and then took the hop-on hop off bus! The ferry was cool cuz it went past Islands. Hop on off was great to get to wineries. Beautiful wineries! Unbelievable sites!
