The Whiteaker neighborhood is well known by travelers and locals alike for having an outstanding selection of quality restaurants and craft breweries in a tight-knit community. We will walk between 7 stops eating and drinking a diverse, curated menu.

We will learn about and explore the Whiteaker neighborhood and all it has to offer as we walk between restaurants, breweries, bakeries, and distilleries! Get onigiri from a favorite local sushi spot. Learn about local history, culture, and public art installments. Sample smoked seafood from the largest independent retailer of dungeonous crab in Oregon. Grab dessert from an incredible local patisserie.

I was coming to Oregon to visit a friend and I suggested I find something for us to do while I'm visiting. I found this tour and really had no expectations. It was really cool to explore this neighborhood and see so many cool buildings, artwork and enjoy some great food and drinks. Our guide did a great job making sure we had food and drinks that we were able to enjoy (I'm vegetarian and my friend is celiac). The walk was super easy and we had a great time! Sierra was super knowledgeable about the different businesses that we visited and the artwork and buildings that we passed. As a history nerd, I would have been happy to hear more about the historical use of the area when Whitteaker purchased the 10 blocks. Was it just industrial, meant to house workers for the lumber industry? I would have liked to learn more about that.

Siera was a great guide. She was very attentive to all our Food needs excellent variety of foods from Mexican to smoked salmon to desserts and coffee. This was a well planned route and all the food was quite good.

I'm always looking for things to do with visitors. A google search found Eugene Eats Food Tours, and I booked the Whiteaker Walking Tour for my husband, me, and two guests who were visiting from out of state. Siera, who is the owner and was also our guide, arranges everything and the fee includes all food, drinks, and tips except for the guide tip. All we had to do was to show up at the starting point. The food tasting at various stops included a nice variety of dishes: Indian, Japanese fusion, Mexican, seafood and dessert. We also tasted beer, had a mixed drink and drank coffee at a small business that roasts their coffee. We were even able to learn something about the coffee roasting from one of the owners. As we walked around the neighborhood, Siera told us some of its history and also details of the murals we passed. Not only was Siera knowledgeable about the restaurants we visited, but she knows a lot about other restaurants, wineries and breweries in Eugene/Springfield and surrounding areas. All four of us really enjoyed the tour and thought the food and drinks tasted were excellent. Eugene Eats Food Tours is now on my list of things to do when we have visitors in the future. I intend to be a repeat customer.
