As Windsor Castle is a working royal palace, sometimes the entire Castle or the State Apartments within the Castle need to be closed at short notice (The whole castle is closed on December 25-26).

Windsor Castle
The town of Windsor is best known for its historical links to the British royal family, and it is suitably steeped in pageantry and history. Towering over the rest of the town is Windsor Castle, the ancestral home of the English and later British monarchy, and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King. Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. Many of the works of art are still in the historic settings for which they were first collected or commissioned by the kings and queens who have lived at Windsor.

Step back 5,000 years in time to prehistoric Britain as our guide helps bring the history of this fascinating monument to life. Who built Stonehenge? Why was it built? Discover the answer to these questions and the monument’s fascinating link to the Summer and Winter solstice. 5.00Robert (tour guide) and Greg (driver) were fantastic for this day trip. Robert is super friendly and knowledgeable. Greg ensured safe and expedient travels. I’d recommend this tour to everyone. Robert even had a few jokes that made us chuckle from time to time. The beautiful day was a bonus! I’d recommend bringing snacks or making sure you know where you want to stop and grab a quick bite. I’d also recommend moving swiftly through Windsor to see it all.

5.00Couldn't be happier with this tour, we booked with access to Windsor Castle and Stonehenge. Greg and Robert did a great job. Robert was a fun and lively guide throughout and kept the whole day flowing nicely. Very knowledgeable, definitely would do another tour with them!

5.00I really enjoyed today’s tour with Godfrey. I would especially like to highlight his impressive ability to switch effortlessly between English and Spanish, making everyone feel included. He is extremely well-organised, has a great sense of humour, and shared a lot of fascinating information throughout the tour. Highly recommended!

4.00My boy Godfrey was amazing. He should get a raise. They don't pay him enough. However the tour was in Spanish and English and went back and forth very annoying. They should just make it so it ur own language and not a bunch of other ones. Cool places tho.

5.00Had a wonderful experience on this day trip! Everything was very well organized, and the itinerary was thoughtfully planned to cover three iconic locations without feeling too rushed. Windsor, Stonehenge, and Oxford were all stunning in their own way, and the time at each stop felt just right. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing interesting facts without overwhelming the group. Transportation was comfortable, which made the long day much easier. Overall, a great way to see some of England’s highlights in one trip - highly recommended!
