5.0Our full day with Phyllis Chartered tour started with a 45 minute drive to Qingtiangang Grassland, visit to an active volcano, lunch at a unique, hillside restaurant, short stop at Beitou hot springs area (unfortunately, closed on Monday), and finished with a visit to Tamsui District. Phyllis was very knowledgeable, friendly, and an expert at navigating the winding mountain roads. We thoroughly enjoyed having Phyllis as our tour guide and would highly recommend Phyllis Chartered tour.

5.0I had been to Beitou in 1969 and it was meaningful to us to see the old bathhouse again. The mountains were covered in clouds so all we could see of the Volcano was a photo in the visitor's center but Bary, a very good and accommodating guide, took us to see the north coast. We are dedicated fisher people and saw a fishing port with some very interesting dockside buildings so Bary parked and we got to see one of the best live seafood markets we have ever seen and we have been all over the world. To us it was the "Disneyland" of fish markets with varieties we had never seen before. This unscheduled stop was the highlight of the day for us. Bary than found a BBQ local place for some of the best wood fired chicken we have ever had. It was a very full 8 hour tour of the north of the island and the price was more than fair for a very nice roomy SUV and a personable and flexible guide who made our day a lot of fun.
