Sankeien Gardens
Sankeien (三溪園) is a spacious Japanese style garden in southern Yokohama which exhibits a number of historic buildings from across Japan. There is a pond, small rivers, flowers and wonderful scrolling trails that make you think you are in Kyoto rather than Yokohama. The garden was built by Hara Sankei and opened to the public in 1904. Among the historic buildings exhibited in the park are an elegant daimyo (feudal lord) residence, several tea houses and the main hall and three storied pagoda of Kyoto's old Tomyoji Temple.
Yokohama Minato Mirai 21
Minato Mirai 21 (みなとみらい 21) is a seaside urban area in central Yokohama whose name means "harbor of the future". It has many large high-rises, including the Landmark Tower, which was Japan's tallest building from 1993 until 2014. The area was a large shipyard until the 1980s, when development began to turn it into a new city center. Minato Mirai is blessed with a great location along the water and has a wealth of attractions. Visitors to the area will be able to find shopping centers, hotels, a convention center, an amusement park, a relaxation center with hot spring baths, museums and park space.

5.00Takako was our guide today. She took us the place already planned for the day.she is very kind and knowledgeable of Yokohama. As we walked to our places she talked about the history of other places we walked by. Ihighly recommend Takako.

3.00Tour was ok. We do a lot of tours but if we could we would either skip this one or use a different company. Did not see much and pace was harried.

5.00We had a great day in Yokohama with our guide, Toru Higaki. Using the subway, he navigated us to the Sangeine Garden which was the highlight of our day. It was so beautiful and interesting. After the garden we headed to Yamate Town and then, we viewed the Yokohama Port. Finally, we walked to Yokohama Chinatown. It was quite busy but Toru found a delicious Chinese restaurant where we ended the tour with a great lunch. He helped navigate us back to our hotel. Toru was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed his company. I would recommend Toru if you are interested in touring Yokohama!

5.00We had a terrific day with our guide, Toru. Using the subway, he navigated us to the Saneien Garden which was the highlight of our day. It was so beautiful and intesting. After the garden, we headed to Yamate Town and then viewed the Yokohama Port. Finally, we walked to Yokohama Chinatown. It was quite busy, but Toru found a delicious Chinese restaurant where we ended the tour with a great lunch. He helped navigate us back to our hotel. Toru was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed his company. I would recommend Toru if you are interested in touring Yokohama!

5.00Because of mobility issues, we were concerned about a walking tour. However, our guide Hideaki-san was very accommodating and adapted his tour to exactly fit our needs. Hideaki-san has an excellent command of English, and knows his city and its history intimately. We walked through the city museum, and then stopped for coffee and a rest at a local cafe. We then used Yokohama's excellent train system to travel to other parts of the city, saving strength for the sights themselves, and returned to our ship via a very reasonably priced cab. Hideaki-san made us feel at home in his city, and we highly recommend him as a guide.

5.00Excellent way to see some of the highlights in Yokohama. It was a private walking tour using public transportation. Our guide Yasuho was early picking us up and kept us busy for 5 hours. He is very knowledgeable and easy to understand. It was a great day.

5.00Sam is a terrific tour guide, friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. A good communicator with a willingness to discuss both history and contemporary topics. The walking pace was comfortable and we stayed on schedule. Lunch was a very enjoyable example of regional cuisine, which was a surprise and certainly expanded our appreciation of Japan's complexity. Highly recommeded.

5.00Same was the perfect host. He arrived early. We discussed the final route. And everything was perfect. He is knowledgeable about the area, but also the culture. Very enjoyable personality, and accommodating. Highly recommend Sam. He's the best!
