The most popular tour through Zurich´s historic old town offers fascinating insights into the city´s colorful history.
What do Einstein, James Joyce and Wagner have in common? All three were residents of Zurich. But it´s not only great minds who are captivated by this lakeside city with its well-preserved old town – people from all over the world have always flocked to the thriving metropolis.
On a two-hour walk through the old town, we go searching for clues to the city´s past in its hidden alleyways and picturesque squares. Brisk walking necessary between stops to cover all the places. You get a breather in rest stops, Great guide (Suzanne), checked everyone was OK in heat, and walked in the shade. 1. bring water, although there are many free, clean, public water fountains to refill your bottle. 2. Get a free map from starting point (tourist office) if you want to know where you are. Great confidence builder for walking around later. 3. Do your tour at the start of your stay in Zurich. There are many small streets impassible by buses, which is where a walking tour of Zurich wins.

All a was knowledgable and provided a good history of the sites. She was open to answering any questions. There was a lot of up hill climbing which was difficult on a hot day.

Guide was knowledgeable. Tour length was good. Our guide was sometimes hard to hear. Hearing devices would have been a lot better.
