• Would have been perfect if not for admin issues

  Getting Ghibli Park tickets ordinarily is basically impossible. So this tour is another way in. However, there was some admin issue between Viator and the tour agency -- I had changed the date of my tour several weeks before and Viator emailed me that the change had been made. But the tour agency somehow didn't get the memo. So the tour agency wouldn't let me participate and we spent an hour trying to sort it out with Viator. Eventually we did, but it was not a good experience. If you need to change the dates, I will recommend canceling on Viator and rebooking instead of changing the date of the tour. But the tour itself was great. We were given a delicious bento, though we couldn't eat it inside the Ghibli Warehouse. Our tour guide was friendly and helpful. While she could not do anything about my situation (it was the agency and she was a contractor), she did what she could to make me feel assured. We also visited the ceramics museum at Seto. Lastly, my fellow tourists were fun and I made a friend.

  The visit was very enjoyable. Our guide was thoughtful, considerate, and was aware of all her guests needs. She kept the group together until we arrived at the line to enter. I stress this because of a bad experience in Kyoto with the guide.

  This bus tour was a great way to experience Ghibli Park. Their availability is more flexible and convenient than purchasing park passes directly. Lily was a courteous and professional guide and the bento boxes were a nice convenience.

  Our guide Maki was excellent. I really liked how knowledgeable she was about the Ghibli park and all the work she put into making the experience special. BUT the people on the trip made it extremely difficult to enjoy. We were supposed to leave at 8:45am and didn’t leave til 9:12am because people were late. And because they were late we missed our chance to get special tickets to see Howl’s Moving Castle. Which was Extra frustrating because we waited in line for 48mins just to be turned away when we were literally next in line for the tickets. So, the 27min delay waiting for others to show up, made us miss the chance, And we wasted 48mins out of 5 hours. The Ghibli Park its self was overly crowded, and we went on a Monday. There was a line for pretty much Everything. Which was annoying, especially considering the only real thing to do was take pictures with your favorite characters. Sounds cool, til you realize you have to wait in line for 20-45mins for a photo. There was even a line for the gift shop, which is crazy. AND the gift shops were SO crowed you couldn’t really LOOK at much of anything. Additionally, we waited 20mins for people to get back to the bus to leave the Ghibli Park. I was very excited about going to the ceramic museum, which we were supposed to spend 45mins exploring. But by time everyone got off the bus and to the museum we only had 30mins left. Over all, Maki was fantastic, the rest of the trip was kinda horrible.

  In this day trip, from check point to return parking, the tour guide Maki was very courteous, good English proficiency, careful, helpful, the driver driving very safe, the journey felt very comfortable, the tour guide introduced the information of the park and the information about the tour park was very clear and useful.   Akiko was a lovely, sweet & informative guide. My daughter (14) and I had a wonderful time at Ghibli park. We are happy we decided on a guided tour vs. Buying tickets and finding our way there. It was great to have a convenient pickup location, information & recommendations about making the most of the park, navigating the crowds getting in, a delicious lunch, and several hours of free time to then explore on our own. My only suggestion would be to include the meeting point at the Marriott Nagoya (floor number/inside/outside) as there are many places I could have guessed we would meet. Overall great trip!

  Easy to navigate, kind staff, very informational! Our guide was amazing and the bus driver was very safe!! They also store luggage under bus if you can’t check into your hotel until later.
