1688年に開業し、アダム・スミスやデイヴィッド・ヒュームといった啓蒙思想家たちがかつてよく通ったジョンズ・コーヒー・ハウス＆タバーンで旅を始めましょう。 エディンバラの焙煎所コモン・コーヒーで淹れたての一杯を味わいながら、スコットランドの知的・社会史におけるコーヒーハウスの役割を探ってみましょう。
そこからガイドがエディンバラの初期のコーヒー文化と結びついた重要な史跡を巡るウォーキングツアーに案内し、コーヒーがスコットランドにどのように伝わったか、そしてそれが首都での会話、商業、コミュニティの形成にどのように役立ったかを明らかにします。
1824年の大火後、200年近くもの間、街の地下に隠され封印されていた雰囲気のある地下金庫「ザ・ロスト・クローズ」で2杯目のコーヒーを飲んでツアーは終わります

What To Expect
The Lost Close
私たちは、18 世紀にさかのぼるコーヒー ハウスであった隠された地下スペースへの独占アクセスを持っており、検察官や海賊が同様に使用していました。 ツアーの後半では、一連の地下の部屋を探索し、そこでコーヒーを飲んでツアーを終了します。トイレと水もここにあります。

5.00This was by far one of the best things we did in Edinburgh! Our guide was funny, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He told stories with genuinely funny jokes and a perfect amount of enthusiasm. It’s a short walk around the royal mile and a brief tour underground, learning history about both Edinburgh and coffee. Plus, you get two orders of coffee per person. The coffee is absolutely incredible, smooth and rich! Come for the coffee, stay for the stories!
