Sonoma: Not Just Wine!

5.00Visited Sonoma for long weekend with friends. First time in CA wine country, so glad we chose Sonoma over Napa (not as hot or crowded). Did this tour solo while friends went biking. Little difficult to find meeting spot since not visible from road or parking lot, but lots of friendly people around. 8 others on tour which guide said was on larger sider. Guide very friendly, knowledgeable local, said hi to several friends we ran into on tour. Food was well-paced & in great order (6+ cheese, then 4+ olive oils & 3+ balsamic veigars, then Mexican light lunch, then ice cream, then 3+ wines with 2+ chocolates). Great variety to taste at each stop. At most stops, actually went into shops, got spiels & samples & answers to any questions from proprietors, not just guide.Have done food tours in Barcelona, Paris, Honolulu, London, and Boston -- this was the most variety of samples at each stop and closest contact with food-makers. Highly recommend!

5.00Great introduction to Sonoma history and culture. Included a cheese tasting, a Mexican lunch with margaritas, ice cream, olive I’ll tasting, wine and chocolate tasting. It covered all the bases.

5.00Wear comfortable shoes! Loved the tour and our guide Abby, the whole experience was awesome. We dressed up a bit as it was a bachelorette trip and took photos along the way. Sandals for me was not the best choice but the cute pictures were worth it. Abby took photos along the way as well. Great history, food and of course the wine and chocolate pairing.

5.00My husband booked this and I was skeptical. Wow, was I wrong! We both LOVED it! Our tour guide, Abby, was fantastic - friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and FUN! It was really interesting learning the history of Sonoma while sampling some of its tastiest local treats. It really was an A+ tour and we highly recommend it.

5.00Abby was our guide and she was phenomenal! The tour included a little bit of everything, and all of the vendors were wonderful. Abby was so knowledgeable on the history of the area and each establishment we visited. It was a great tour!
Terrific Blend of History, Food, & Wine

5.00Mia provided a terrific tour that was a blend of Sonoma's and California's history, the local food scene, and the local wine scene. We sampled cheeses at a cheese shop that has operated since 1931, had lunch & a wine-country margarita at a Mexican restaurant open since 1967, stopped for ice cream at locally-owned shop on the Plaza, tasted olive oils and balsamic vinegars at a store that has been open since 1989, and finished with a wine tasting at the Highway 12 tasting room, where we also enjoyed dark chocolate truffles from a local chocolatier. In between these stops, Mia stopped to relate some history. I appreciated the pacing, the amount of food, ample but not so much that we felt stuffed, and her patronage of locally owned businesses. This was a terrific introduction to Sonoma.

4.00Would be nice to have a few more stops. Maybe because it was raining our tour could have been altered and we didn't get to see everything.
