  We booked the Nui Dat, Long Tan and Vung Tau private tour with Maika Tours and it ended up being one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam. Our guide, Chris, and driver, Minh, were both excellent. Chris took the time to ask what had motivated us to book this particular tour. My husband served in the NZ Army, although he was too young to have served in Vietnam, and once Chris learned that he was able to tailor parts of the discussion to our interests. His knowledge was incredible, particularly around the Australian and New Zealand involvement in Vietnam. It was clear he had a genuine passion for the history and a deep understanding of the events and people involved. The visit to Long Tan Cross was especially moving. Chris handled this part of the tour with genuine respect and sensitivity. He gave us the information we needed and then left us some quiet time to reflect, which we really appreciated. The whole day was extremely well organised. Minh was a fantastic driver, the SUV was comfortable, and we felt completely safe throughout the journey. Lunch was also excellent. Chris was knowledgeable, considerate, humorous and easy to spend a full day with. We learned so much and came away with a much deeper understanding of the history of the area.   We were blessed to have Huang as our tour guide as she comes with 28 years of experience specialising in war history and history of Vietnam - she is a walking encyclopedia. We personalised the tour and retraced a family members time when he was sent here to Vietnam in 1970 - we got to see where he was based - we got to see the area he was ambushed in - we got to see where his camp was - plus we went to Long Tan and paid our respects at the memorial - finishing off with a gourmet lunch - the whole experience was seamless and we go home with even more understanding and respect for war veterans on both sides We highly recommend Maika Tours

  Our experience was excellent. This was a tour to visit my father’s posting during the war. Huong was great, she and our driver managed all the logistics perfectly. She was very knowledgeable about the area and made it a very special day for us.

  I cannot recommend this tour highly enough for Australians visiting Vietnam. From the ease of booking the tour direct with Maika Tours to the knowledge and experience of Huong it was an amazing day. Throw in a great driver, a fantastic seafood lunch and sightseeing in Vung Tau you could not wish for a better day.

  We had the absolute privilege of attending the Dawn Service in Vietnam with Nam and Lady Hong, and it was truly an unforgettable experience.   We had the most amazing day with Nam. Being able to do a dawn service on ANZAC day at Long Tan was one of the highlights of our trip. Nam's knowledge about Nui Dat was excellent. When we told him my Uncle had served in Vietnam, Nam was able to identify where in Nui Dat he was and take us to those places. This was definitely a life changing experience and I highly recommend doing this with Nam. • Exceptional Private Tour with Huong ♥️

  We had an incredible one-day private tour with Huong visiting the Long Tan Cross, Nui Dat base, and Horseshoe Hill. Huong was exceptionally detailed, informed, and brought history to life using photos and over 30 years of knowledge. Knowing she personally cleans the Long Tan memorial site every month shows her immense respect and dedication to the site. She was funny, personable, and made the whole day feel tailored just for us. After the history tour, she took us to Vung Tau, which we absolutely fell in love with. The seafood lunch she chose was right on the water and truly amazing. We ended the day with spectacular views from the lighthouse, some sight seeing, and a comfortable ride home.
