• Relaxed Environment and Delicious Food!

  This experience was a wonderful and relaxing way to better understand Korean cuisine and connect with a kind and knowledgable local expert. Eunkyo was easy to talk to and made the entire experience a calm and beautiful afternoon for my mother and myself. We also had amazing luck and had an unexpected private class with our guide who walked us through the market and then showed us very helpful cooking techniques to easily replicate in our kitchens. Everyone has their own prep space and cookware to create individual portions of each item to prepare and taste so they can learn all of the skills. She even has many of the useful tools and special ingredients available at the class to purchase and use at home if desired. I have gone on a handful of food tours and cooking classes elsewhere and can say that this was the most relaxed and meditative experience so far. Thank you Eunkyo!

  We booked Seondeok Cooking Class as something a bit different to do in Gyeongju, and it ended up being a real highlight of our trip. It had a lovely local feel from the start. This was not a polished tourist show or a rushed group activity. It felt relaxed, thoughtful and properly personal. We liked that the experience gave us time to understand the ingredients and the way Korean dishes are put together, rather than just being told what to chop and stir. The cooking was really enjoyable and easy to follow. The instructions were clear, the pace was calm, and there was plenty of help when we needed it. It felt hands on without being stressful, which made it really fun to do as a couple. What stood out most was the care that went into the whole experience. The food, the explanations, the local setting and the final meal all felt very genuine. We came away feeling like we had done something far more memorable than just another sightseeing stop. A beautiful, friendly and authentic experience in Gyeongju. I would definitely recommend it!

  From the moment we met Eunkyo at Seondeok K-Cooking in Gyeongju, we knew we were in for something special but the experience far exceeded anything we imagined. She welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that we instantly felt at home, like we were spending the day with a dear friend rather than attending a class. The market tour was an amazing experience. We had visited the same market the day before and honestly felt a bit overwhelmed and unsure of what we were looking at. But with Eunkyo guiding us, everything came alive. She introduced us to local specialties Gyeongju is known for, explained ingredients in a way that was both fascinating and easy to understand, and brought us to vendors who clearly adore her. Watching those interactions said everything about her! You can tell she’s a truly wonderful person who is deeply connected to her community. Then came the cooking class, which was nothing short of exceptional. Eunkyo has a gift for teaching. She made traditional Korean cooking feel approachable, fun, and incredibly rewarding. The food we created together was delicious, but even more meaningful because of the care and culture she shared with us along the way. This wasn’t just a cooking class! Everything was a magical, immersive experience filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine connection. If you’re visiting Gyeongju, this is an absolute must-do. We’ll be talking about this day for years to come.

  Had a great time in this cooking class especially with Eunkyo, the instructor! She was so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the market and the different recipes we cooked. And the food came out delicious!! Such a great activity to book if you’re in Gyeongju to break up seeing all the historical sights. Don’t miss out!!

  The tour around Seongdong Market was amazing, as I got to see what real Korean people buy and sell. The vibe was chill yet vibrant and colorful! Although it was my first time cooking Korean food, Eunkyo somehow managed to turn me into a decent cook! The process was so fun and got to learn more about the culture as well as the food from her. Definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Gyeongju!!

  We joined the class as a family with our child, and it was such a fun and educational experience. She made everything easy to understand, even for beginners. She is the sweetest person I've ever met. My kids were so proud of the kimbap they made! It was a great way to learn about Korean food in a hands-on way. Highly recommended for families visiting Gyeongju. The class started with a traditional market tour, which made everything feel authentic and special. The kitchen was clean, cozy, and beautifully designed.
