• A must-visit for the frescoes by Tiepolo

  A suburban noble residence accessible on foot from the center of Vicenza, Villa Valmarana is famous for the cycle of mythological-themed frescoes painted by Giambattista Tiepolo, with contributions from his son, which adorn the walls and ceilings of the ground floor rooms. There are only four rooms to visit, so the tour is quite quick, and in the remaining time, you can explore the gardens. The nickname "at the Dwarfs" comes from the curious dwarf statues placed on the boundary wall. The ticket for a self-guided tour costs €15, and it can be purchased directly at the entrance, without excessive lines.

  The place has interesting frescoes in two buildings and nice gardens. There is a small outdoors place to eat too. Parking at the entrance is very limited but may be available at the end of the forest where there is another entrance to the property. I do not know if any reviews mention this. Villa Rotonda is across the street from the forest entrance and a place you should visit.

  We really enjoyed discovering Vincenza, and touring this Villa was worthwhile. Took the train from Verona, and walked throughout the city. The walk to the Villa was mostly uphill, but worth the effort. We were able to stroll through the gardens, and tour the main and guest homes.

  I was very disappointed with this purchase given my prior amazing experiences with Viator. This purchase only gets to a 15 Euro ticket at the house. Not even the multimedia experience for 25 Euros. Just a waste of money

  Sunday, November 19, 2025, I visited Villa Valmarana with an exceptional guide, the owner. These types of visit always have something special and experienced. The villa is very beautiful and its characteristic are the magnificent frescoes by Gianbattista and Giandomenico Tiepolo, father and son both in the villa and in the guesthouse, a succession of beautifully frescoed rooms. The negative note goes to the staff who by phone (as many as 3 times) and e-mail could not give me the information requested about the visit. Finally on the 4th attempt I was answered directly by the owner and so I could have some clarifications about

  at the entrance garden small but well maintained, the very large and well maintained Guest House with beautifully affscate rooms. Then you move on to the villa and here it is a wonder of art. Reading the paper guide you will discover the whole history of the villa. Then the woods.... to take your breath away. Immense and well-kept with many plants well described by the panels, then the temple with inside the projectors that reflect on the walls a very nice movie. Beautiful walkway that emits sounds of crickets and owls that populate the park as you walk up to the big sphere. Congratulations

  Despite living in Vicenza I had not yet visited this villa: it was really a surprise, both from an architectural and landscape point of view. Obviously the highlight are the frescoes by Tiepolo father and Tiepolo son, which told by the expert guide Francesca left us speechless. Thank you.

  We visited the villa with the guided tour, and I must say it is worth it. Nicole, the guide, took us on a trip back in time telling the story of the villa and the beautiful frescoes by Tiepolo. A 5-minute walk also leads to the Rotonda, one of Palladio's most famous villas. A visit really pleasant and different from usual, we will remember.

  The villa is really interesting, beautiful I Tiepolo absolutely must see. Difficulty finding parking, so much so that we were deciding to leave. Negative experience with the impractical use of the tablet,much better apps like those in the guesthouse and in the woods. The earphones supplied without the sponge caps (she justified saying that they no longer had any) but we were among the few people present and these did not have the tablet supplied, and insufficient audio.

  A little difficult to access but the result is worth it... The villa is out of space and time. Tiepolo's frescoes are wonderful. The park is beautiful. Recommend
