• Memoral voyage through a series of extraordinary Landscapes

  From the moment I was collected at Windhoek airport by our relaxed and smiling guide, I knew my trip was going to be wonderful. As a solo traveller, I had been a little anxious about choosing a safari company from the internet, but Wild Wind had such great reviews and Leilani in their Windhoek office was so quick and efficient to answer every email that any worries evaporated. I chose the 11-day Highlights of Namibia and enjoyed every minute. The car rides were sometimes long (Namibia is a big country) but the scenery was sensational, the car comfortable so you didn’t really notice the dirt roads and Mevin, our guide and driver extremely knowledgeable. He knew about geology, the birds and animals and the stars and was never phased by my millions of questions about everything to do with Namibia. He was also a very safe driver (extremely important) and had sensational eyesight so could spot animals from miles away even when they were just small dots in the landscape. The tour started with the red dunes at Sossusvlei. One of the most extraordinary places I have ever visited and then continued to Swakopmund where I was so pleased Mevin persuaded me to take the extra Combo activity of the Dolphin cruise and Sandwich Harbour excursion. Off-road driving on the dunes was not something I thought I would enjoy but it was thrilling and the views of the sand meeting the sea amazing. Tracking the desert elephants was also fascinating. We finally found them after a long drive over bumpy terrain – only to have one turn up at the lodge that night and pull up the water supply to my bedroom. Be careful what you look for! Visiting the tribes was interesting, but the highlight of this part of the tour was Etosha with the animals and the birds. There had been rain so we didn’t see many predators but that was totally compensated for by the rhinos, the birds and everything else. On the final night two rhinos fought at the waterhole. This was one of the most extraordinary things I have ever seen and will carry with me for ever. The lodges were comfortable and the food good. The best lodges were the Elegant Desert Lodge, the Twyfelfontein Country Lodge which you approach through huge rocks, and the Opuwo Country Lodge where the views were extraordinary. The lodge in Etosha was perhaps less good but it had the advantage of being inside the National Park which very few are, so it was perfect for night-time game viewing and had that waterhole with those rhinos. Would I change anything if I did it again? Not really – but I would have liked to have had another night in Opuwo and explored the vibrant town a bit more. I can thoroughly recommend Wild Wind Safaris who organised a great trip and very varied programme. I also highly recommend our wonderful driver and guide, Mevin, who made everything (including my new camera) so enjoyable and work so well.

  We had a fabulous adventure/safari holiday in Namibia and our Tour Guide Mevin was absolutely fantastic! He was professional, patient and guided us for 10 days and we had a marvellous vacation! • Good organization, great trip!

  Undecided whether to do this experience alone or with a private guide we decided to rely on this agency seeing the great reviews! I must say that the choice of Lodges was perfect, all very nice and even the advice on choosing luxury Leilani was really well appreciated, the Onguma Fort was really a gem!! I recommend the agency for their organization. Just two points to improve on: being a couple we took for granted that the beds chosen for us were double instead on three occasions we ended up with rooms with single beds. We requested the Lodges to have a double bedroom and it was not a problem, so I recommend the agency to pay attention to this thing and always request a double bed for a couple who book. The Lodges were all beautiful except for the state one in the Waterberg Palteu, really poor both the rooms (we had to clean the bathroom because very dirty) and the restaurant.   We recently went on a 12-day tour with Wild Wind Safaris, starting from Windhoek. It was a much-awaited holiday to a destination very few people back home knew about — so my feelings were a mix of excitement and a little anxiety. But right from the moment we stepped into our vehicle and met our guide-cum-driver, Mr. Kauta, every experience turned out to be par excellence. The itinerary, along with the carefully chosen hotels, was so thoughtfully curated by Mr. Philip and his team. Not for a single moment did I feel regret — every day brought something special. The highlights for me were Twyfelfontein and, of course, the unforgettable Etosha National Park. It was also a pleasure meeting Mr. Philip and his wife in person. We left Namibia with hearts full of beautiful memories. The icing on the cake was climbing Big Daddy sand dune — reaching the top and then sliding down. Honestly, it was only possible because of Kauta’s constant encouragement. And at Etosha, his dedication shone through. He went out of his way, even connecting with other guides, to ensure we spotted as much wildlife as possible. Imagine the thrill of seeing a cheetah with her cub in the wild!   A wonderful trip that exceeded our expectations! Our whole experience was nothing but extraordinary, thanks to the impeccable organisation of Wild Wind Safaris, and to our exceptional guide, Farid. The agency carefully planned our trip and tailored it to our needs so that we could fully enjoy Namibia’s breathtaking landscapes and different cultures. But what truly made this trip unique was our tour guide, Farid. His deep knowledge of his country’s history, wildlife, and local traditions added value to our trip. Farid’s passion for his country added value to every place we visited. Towering the big daddy in Sossusvlei, encountering wildlife in Etosha National Park, or mingling with the local communities, were made even more special with Farid. Farid also adapted to our needs, going above and beyond to ensure we made the most of Namibia. We returned home full of positive vibes and long-lasting memories.   Philip organized the perfect tour for our family (including our 3 young children), and this was without question our best family holiday ever. The Wild Wind Safari team is very knowledgeable, plans out every detail, and gave us the experience of a lifetime.   We took the 12-day tour and three days in Etosha with Akser. The route was great, and he was attentive to everything. He gave us a wealth of information about the sites we visited and resolved a couple of issues we had at a couple of hotels. It was our honeymoon, and he made sure the hotels were attentive to our needs. Highly recommended. Thank you so much, Akser!

  I and my wife visited Namibia from 20 June to 30 June 2025 ( 10 days Safari) . It was a memorable event and we really enjoyed . The trip was professionally organised by Wild Wind Safari, Namibia and they had planned with detailed precision . Our guide Mr Akser was outstanding and helped us to understand Namibia and its people throughout the journey . The lodges selected were very good . Our suggestions : 1. Instead of two days stay at Swakopmund , we could stay one day at Walvis bay and complete the ocean and the desert trip or alternately stay at Walvis bay for two days and make a day visit to Swakopmund. 2. At Etosha National park- First day stay at Okaukuejo camp and balance two days at Halali camp would have been preferred . 3. Two days stay at Twyfelftontein Lodge instead of a night stay at White lady lodge would have been appropriate . The staff at Wild wind safari , especially Leilani was very helpful in planing and executing the trip. Cheers to the Wild Wind Safari team Ram and Vrinda
