5.00We were given a lesson from a very patient instructor on the steps of the tea ceremony. Despite our errors, she guided us to perform the activities ourselves through an interpreter. There were a lot of laughs as well as a serious side. It was a great way to learn about this cultural activity. We did this in conjunction with the calligraphy class as well as the flowing noodles. It was nice to be able to group the activities together. We would highly recommend The Space activities.

3.00Whilst we enjoyed our experience and the staff were very friendly it wasn’t quite what we expected for the cost. Ceremony was not in a traditional setting and we thought that we would get more than one cup of tea.

3.00Was interesting to learn the heritage of the tea ceremony process . Was a little underwhelming as an experience as expected maybe options to taste different teas . Not sure was value for money given setting.

5.00The tea ceremony was very educational. Later we drank macha at another place and were even praised for our good etiquette! The people at Space Beppu are super friendly and approachable and I like the idea of this space. I would come back anytime! The calligraphy course was also cool!

5.00I had a great time and really enjoyed the conversation about the tea with the host and other participants. (The each country has their own tea culture!) At first, the host made a tea for us and I could learn about the Tea ceremony etiquette. Then I made a Matcha by myself. (Of course we could eat tasty Japanese sweets!) We tried the Matcha with Onsen water from the local Onsen and it was also good. It was really good time!

5.00The Matcha Tea Ceremony was very good! I enjoyed my experience there with them being extremely friendly and teaching the way of the traditional tea ceremony of Japan. With them teaching the way and the procedures of the ceremony and another big plus is their ability to speak Japanese. Personally, my Japanese is quite bad and not good enough to have a full on conversation in Japanese, but thankfully, they are able to understand me and we had a wonderful conversation in Japanglish. Would definitely recommend to experience and learn about Matcha tea ceremony in Beppu!
