• Honeymooning with the Gorillas and Golden Monkeys!

  We had a spectacular Honeymoon trip with Frena Adventures seeing the gorillas chill in Bwindi Forest, seeing the wonderful culture of Rwanda and Uganda, and watching the Golden Monkeys jump around in Volcanoes National Park. It was a surreal experience hiking for 2 hours to interact and take photos of the stunning gorillas - just inches away from us. Our guide, Issa, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and kind during our entire 3-day drive. We enjoyed our delicious home-made meals, talking about life in Rwanda/Uganda, and driving around seeing the different cultures. You can tell Issa takes pride in what he does and loves his country and the animals. We would recommend Frena Adventures if you are looking for adventure in Rwanda and Uganda. My wife and I had a trip of a lifetime! Note for future travelers: Roads are VERY bumpy. If you tend to get car sick, bring anti-nausea medication. You do need to wear a surgical mask to see the gorillas and monkeys, so make sure you pack some. The Volcanoes National Park only takes Visa card the day of the hike. Although we did pay the tour upfront for our passes, we did have to pay again when we got there (thank goodness we had our Visa with us). But Issa reimbursed us right when we met back with him after the hike was over. There is a cultural experience in your itinerary – we would recommend bringing plenty of tip money if you do proceed with that part of the trip. Lastly, it would be helpful for Frena to ensure the guides know exact location of lodges/hotels to prevent them getting lost. We can’t wait to travel with Frena Tours in the future! Lodges we stayed in: Four Gorillas Lodge, Five Volcanos Boutique Hotel. We highly recommend these lodges booked by Frena Tours. They were wonderful

  We had an incredible time on our gorilla trekking and golden monkey adventure in Bwindi with Frena Adventures. Our driver and guide, Ronnie, was absolutely fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly, and always punctual. He made sure we were comfortable and well-prepared for each part of the journey, and shared great insights about the local area and wildlife along the way. Thank you for an amazing trip!

  Working with Frena Adventures and going for the Gorilla/Golden Monkey trek was amazing. Fred handled all the logistics/ planning /payments seamlessly and was very prompt with all my queries before I left for Africa. Rodney (my driver for three days) was also outstanding. He was very knowledgeable and provided lot of useful information about the countries of Uganda/Rwanda, the people, the politics, the history and the wildlife as we drove around the two countries. He was always on time and very attentive. He also personally arranged my pick up and drop off with the Ranger for the Gorilla trek in Bwindi. I would highly recommend Frena Adventures. Fike

  Great Tour Operator! I‘ve done a 2nights/3days trip from Kigali to Bwindi National Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (moderate-budget option). The organization, incl. online payment, was quick and reliable. The driver Ronald was always on time, drove safely and explained alour about local nature & culture.   Yesterday we returned from our trip to Rwanda and Uganda via Frena Adventures and hosted by Ronald (what a guy!!!). We spent the first day with Golden Monkeys and the second day with the Mountain gorillas. It was without a doubt the best trip of our lives (and we try to go away as much as we can). Ronald was an absolute legend, he made us feel welcome, comfortable and safe. He knew when we needed to rest and when we wanted a good chat. He also had some big tunes playing in the car when we needed it!!. It wouldn’t have been the same trip without Ronald and Frena.
