Old Dishevelled Van with Matching Driver. Unsafe!

2.00We had the same driver and van for both trips. It was an old-model dishevelled van with a similarly matching male driver. Our trip from PPP airport to Airlie Beach was uncomfortable and nauseating due to him driving way too fast and erratic. It was obvious that he was unhappy and running late due to the plane landing late. He threw the van around corners as if he was in a small car and hurriedly disembarked passengers from the road and not the kerb. Baggage handling was also quite brutal and hurried. It was with disbelief and dismay though that we saw him repeatedly checking the football scores and messages on his phone while driving. Not safe at all! I would certainly not recommend this service for anyone with mobility issues or the elderly. Trip back was a little better and the same driver wasn’t in such a rush. He was however sour, unfriendly and unhappy and really needs to perhaps find a job that doesn’t require friendly customer service.

5.00Excellent customer service by the Driver Darren. Provided expert knowledge of the area throughout the transfer with a running commentary on the area as we drove through, not just your standard transfer. Made what could have been a fairly boring ride very interesting. As we were staying in Shute harbour (outside of Airlie beach) he kindly dropped us at a shop on route whilst dropping off another customer. He then provided local knowledge around various transport options to and from airlie beach. He also enquired about one of our activities transfers and changed our return transfer for us to a better suited time. Really top quality guy and attention to detail on providing the best service - highly recommend.
