Jonah was an amazing guide who was friendly, punctual and accommodating. He is very passionate about coffee and had lots of interesting information about the region and coffee farming that he shared with us which elevated the experience. The admission fee was fair for what we got to see and experience. The tour itself goes for a good 5-6 hours but it went very quick. Being on the coffee farm and looking at the processes offered an incredible atmosphere getting to walk through the farm selecting coffee berries and observing different groups of beans in the African beds. The location is quiet and private which gave us the ability to go at our own pace and enjoy the peacefulness the area offers. Overall it was a wonderful and informative experience about coffee farming and if you’re a coffee lover this is definitely the tour for you!

Our tour guide had excellent local connections with local coffee farmers to make this a super personal tour for our family. We spent a good amount of time touring with the local coffee farmer and our guide, hiking the farm and exploring and learning about the different types of coffee grown on the property. We got to learn about how the coffee is processed and what makes a good coffee. It was an excellent personalized and intimate tour. Wood recommend.

Amazing experience! It was a pleasure to see the whole process of organic coffee farming on a authentic small family-owned farm. It's such a beautiful and calm place with some breathtaking views. Jonathan was a super enthusiastic guide with a high proficiency in English. Would recommend 100%!

Now I know what 'a good cup of coffee' - free of synthetic fertilizers and chemical pesticides - really means! On this Life in Loja tour of an organic coffee farm, we learned that organic coffee has to be shade-grown. Without the foliage of trees, the sun would quickly scorch the earth and require large amounts of (non-organic) fertilizer to restore nutrients. So these coffee farmers keep native trees in place to provide shade, and this has a positive impact on biodiversity sustainability. Our Lojano guide Jonathan also showed us how farming and processing are significantly different from that of conventional coffee. For me, a highlight was learning how organic farmers protect their crop from plagues. Hint: it involves Coca Cola bottles and red paint. You'll have to take the tour to get the full explanation! Never again will I consider ordering a quick 'to go' cup of coffee.

Several years ago I was fortunate to take one of the very first coffee farm tours offered through Life in Loja and decided go again recently with a friend. This is still an excellent experience. Even though I thought I had heard it all previously I learned even more this time. Our guide - Jona - has superior English speaking skills so one can get maximum benefit from all that is said. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who has an interest in how coffee is grown, harvested, and prepared. Tip: if you are offered then don't pass up a chance to taste a ripe coffee cherry - they are surprisingly tasty!

A great experience that I recommend to learn more about the process of making Loja coffee from plant to cup! Jona is a punctual and professional guide and he speaks English very well and even a little French. He really has a very good knowledge of his tours and his region!
