私たちのツアーはエルサレム旧市街のユダヤ人地区で行われ、シオンへの帰還がテーマとなっています。まず、シオンとは何か。それはユダヤ教の聖書に出てくる言葉で、イスラエル人が約3000年前にエルサレムを占領したときにダビデ王が占領した要塞の名前として最初に使われました。その後、エルサレムとイスラエルの同義語になりました。

2000年前の西暦70年にエルサレムで第二神殿が破壊されて以来、ユダヤ人は彼らの最も神聖な都市に再び恒久的な足場を取り戻そうとしてきました。ユダヤ人が世界中に追放されたとき、エルサレムはユダヤ人をここに引き戻す磁石でした。最も悲惨な状況下でもシオンに戻ってきたのです。私たちのツアーでは、ローマ人がエルサレムを破壊したときに何が起こったのかを聞き、見ます。そして、何世紀にもわたってユダヤ人がさまざまな時期に帰還した話を聞きます。1948年にユダヤ人地区が失われ、その後1967年にエルサレムが再びイスラエルの永遠の首都として統一されました。

We had a fantastic day touring Jerusalem with Simon! As a family of four with two teenagers, it can sometimes be tricky to keep everyone engaged, but Simon managed it brilliantly. He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much fascinating information, but he also made it fun and entertaining for all of us. The transport was comfortable and efficient, and he was perfectly on time. We all learned so much and had a great time doing it. We would highly recommend Simon to any family looking for an informative and enjoyable tour.
