What To Expect
Broad Street
ブリッジタウン。 1628年7月5日、チャールズ・ウルヴァーストーン率いる64人の入植者が到着した。ブリッジタウンの場所は、港に最も適した場所でした。しかし、その湿地は入植者の健康を悪化させました。 入植者は、島の初期の住民であるアメリカ人によって建設された橋にちなんで町の名前を付けました。それ自体の橋はインディアン橋と呼ばれていました ブリッジタウンの主要な通りはジョンスワンによって設計され、伝統に基づいてスワン通りは彼にちなんで名付けられました。メインストリートのブロードストリートは、町で最も広い通りであるため、ブロードストリートと名付けられました。 初期の頃、町の通りは不当な扱いを受け、1656年に議会が可決され、所有物の前のスペースを清潔に保てなかった人が違反した場合、毎日100ポンドの砂糖を罰金を科すことができました。 ブリッジタウンの沼は埋められ、運河に置き換えられました。 憲法の下部はCareenageと呼ばれます。船が修理される側にケアされていたので、それはCareenageと名付けられました。
Morgan Lewis Sugar Mill

Our guide Susan really stood out. She was positive, energetic, and incredibly knowledgeable, and even went out of her way to make an extra stop so I could grab food from a local vendor. Such a thoughtful touch that made a great tour even better. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Barbados!

5.00Our guide, Stephen, an island native, clearly has a genuine appreciation for the beauty and history of Barbados. As a California driver who isn’t usually intimidated by traffic, I was more than happy to be in Stephen’s hands as he effortlessly navigated the roads through the different parishes while sharing interesting facts and anecdotes along the way. He kept us laughing and answered countless questions, making the experience both fun and informative. The stops were well timed—including the all-important bathroom breaks. Lunch at Savvy On The Bay offered a beautiful beachside setting, with plenty of time to enjoy the meal and connect with fellow travelers. Our visit to Mount Gay Rum Distillery was equally enjoyable—fun, informative, and a great way to discover that I’m more of a rum punch kind of gal than a straight-sipping rum drinker! Thank you, Stephen, for a fantastic tour—five stars all the way.
