5.00Michal is incredibly knowledgeable. With his political science degree he is able to talk in detail about the rise and fall of communism is Poland, but also knows about the nuances: Why some people were nostalgic for communism, why communist leaders often became capitalists later, why the economy was so important, how gnomes mocked the militia, and why Solidarity Fighting had support from the people but not Solidarity themselves. This is not a tour of sights and buildings as much as it is an in depth history lesson into post WW2 Poland, from an expert teacher. This was the highlight of my trip.
