スコットランドで2番目に人気の観光名所で、この城に住んでいた王や女王の物語など、血なまぐさい歴史について学びます。

ここには3000年近く前から砦があったという証拠があり、少なくとも12世紀のデイヴィッド1世の治世以来、王城となっています。スコットランドの君主たちは1633年までこの城を使い続け、城壁内でジェームズ6世の誕生も見届けました。

ツアーはロイヤルマイルから始まり、その後城に向かいます。そこでガイドが城の起源や包囲戦について語ります。

城壁内に入ると、ガイドが要塞のさまざまな部分を案内し、魅力的な歴史を語ってくれます。複合施設内には、3 つの博物館、2 つの刑務所、犬の墓地、聖マーガレット礼拝堂、スコットランド戦没者国立記念碑、グレートホール、王宮があります。(ツアー全体は屋外で行われます。ツアー中は建物には立ち入りできません。)

ツアーグループは城の建物にアクセスできないため、悪天候の場合はツアーは屋外のままとなりますのでご了承ください。

ツアーは城壁の内側ですが、屋外で行われます。ツアーの後は自由時間があり、城を探索したり、すべての建物（博物館、王宮、刑務所など）の中に入ることができます。ツアー中はこれらの建物には立ち入ることができませんが、ツアーは城の敷地内で行われます。

城は単一の建物ではなく、建物の複合体です。

このツアーでは、エディンバラ城の管理者が指定した特定の停留所をガイドが案内します。

30Lを超えるバッグは城内に持ち込みできません。

Jen was a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide! You can tell she loves her job and does a wonderful job keeping people engaged. Jen’s background knowledge of the military was very helpful when explaining aspects of the castle and its operations. The tour was very informative and helped people with little knowledge of the castle develop a good understanding of the history and structure. I highly recommend to visitors!

Our tour with Nick was a perfect way to spend our first morning in Edinburgh! He was so knowledgeable about the city, its history, and everything to check out once you’re in the castle. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an exciting introduction to Edinburgh!

We toured the Castle with our tour guide Raj. It was a fantastic experience with the beauty of the grounds and the fantastic historical narration of Raj. If you love the historical facts and in depth background of places you visit I would most definitely recommend this tour and Raj as your tour guide. It was a great mix of everything you could ask for with a few comical quips! Mel Gibson would be proud!

The Edinburgh Castle tour was excellent. Nick, our guide, was very entertaining, knowledgeable, and provided us with historical information and stories to spark our interest further. I would recommend this tour.

Tour guide was knowledgeable however, didn’t keep the tour moving. I believe he took too much time explaining the answers to questions and at times repeated himself. Brief answers would have been more appropriate and given us more time to see the grounds.
