  From our initial communications and collection at Cape Town cruise port to the drop off at the airport at the end of the trip, Johan and his team were exceptional. We booked a half day and full day wine tasting tours and both Danelle and Elmer were friendly, knowledgeable about wine and South Africa in general and chose smaller more interesting wineries to visit. I would highly recommend LaRochelle to anyone wanting to experience the wine regions of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek

  Our guide/driver Aylmer provided us with an excellent day of wine tasting. His knowledge of wine was very impressive and his selections of wineries to visit matched well with our wine preferences. His knowledge extended beyond the generalities of a particular brand, varietal, or blend. He really helped us better understand the nuances of tasting, both when considering what wine to buy, but also how to enjoy it either alone or when paired with food. On top of all of that, Aylmer's knowledge of the region and its history answered a lot of questions I've had since our visit began. He was thoroughly fun to be with. We would definitely do another wine tour with Aylmer.

  I can only recommend the tour we did today. Didi knows a lot about wine , she selected a broad variety of really good wines in three different wine yards - probably some of the bests in the region. I thought I know a lot about wine but learned even more. When I come back, this is a MUST DO!!!!   We had a great day, guided by Aylmer who was friendly, informative and accommodating throughout. A really well chosen package of 3 wine estates with food and wine at each plus a lovely lunch stop.

  We had a fantastic experience and couldn’t recommend this tour enough. Aylmer was thoughtful, a wealth of information, and a joy to spend the day with. We both deeply appreciatived him for his conversations about wine and beyond. He adjusted where we visited as well based on our tasting and thoughts at the first winery. Loved that he took us through how to taste things properly and definitely expanded both of our education around, not just the region and production styles, but also differing perspectives about how to balance palate, and more. Thank you so much for an excellent day!

  Really can speak highly enough about this tour with D our amazing guide. Incredibly knowledgeable and just very kind, she showed us the best spots and adapted to what we needed. Apparently she’s planning our wedding here also now 😂

  The weather was awful! But our guide & driver Danielle did everything she could to keep us dry! Great wine tasting + lunch experience. Worked with La Rochelle ahead of time to zero in on wineries that would best match our tastes. We were picked up at our hotel in Franschhoek and stopped at three wineries for tastings & lunch. We've had very little exposure to South African wines so this was our opportunity to sample a variety (but focused on reds). Danielle knew her wines and the history/personalities that developed the wine industry in SA.

  A fantastic mystery wine tour with food pairings! Our guide, Aylmar, was excellent - extremely knowledgeable about wine and South Africa in general. We really recommend this tour & would do it again if we’re back in Franschhoek.

  This trip was just fantastic, our guide was so knowledgeable and we had the chance to taste some really good wines. We like to travel and do wine tastings but we still learnt lots from this trip. Well worth booking for wine enthusiasts to total newbies.
