• Cancellation at the last minute with false excuse

  We had a reservation for today at 8h to go to the Benagil caves by kayak. According to the reservation we had to be there at 7:30 and at about 7:10 I have received the cancellation due to adverse weather conditions. I haven't seen the mail until we've parked around 7:20. We have decided to go down to the beach to be given an explanation as apparently the sea was calm and kayaking from other companies kept coming out. There was a diamond worker (yellow t-shirt) we could talk to and he told us to wait. While two more couples have come with the same activity but they had not been canceled in the get your guide app (for which we had all booked) At 8am a worker from another company who spoke Spanish approached us and told us that Diamond was canceling the activity, even though we kept seeing kayaking come out and the sea like a dish. He told the other two couples that if they wanted to keep waiting... We believe that the guide has not been presented and have not been able to have the detail of reorganizing something contracted in advance in other companies, canceling with the easiest possible excuse. We are a couple with two children and have decided after the bad weather to go to do the activity by boat and sight of dolphins, as to Benagil the next Kayak we could book were late. We attached photo taken from the boat with canoe in the background. Very unserious, I do not recommend it.

  Very unorganized and way too many kayaks from other tours on the water. The caves were amazing but the overall experience was not. I recommend doing a boat tour since they also go into the caves and it’s less hassle.

  John was the best guide ever. Kept us safe getting in and out of the kayak. He was so knowledgeable about the area and the history. My husband and I were the two older in the group but he and everyone else were so welcoming. I would 100% recommend this company. Love every minute of our 2 hour tour.

• Great tripe with helpful guides- but go early!

  Really good trip with helpful guides and decent kit provided. Only snag was how busy it was (we went at 1000 and the sea at times was packed with kayaks and small motor boats looking to get into the caves) Staff were helpful and happy to take pictures etc. and give lots of detail on the caves and scenery. G for the 0800 slot and it will be perfect and also a lit5le cooler!

  Nice experience. I loved touring the coast and entering the caves. Our guides have been watching the group at all times, have explained things and have played photographers.

  

  

  

  

• Diamond kayaking worth booking!

  We had an awesome 2 hour tour along the coastline and into the many caves. Our guides name was Lovely and he was fantastic! Professional and knowledgeable. We booked online based on other reviews as we didn't want to chance not getting a tour at the beach. Being the winter season it was not busy and we ended up being the only 2 on the tour. A private tour on a beautiful sunny day! I would highly recommend this company.

  

  

• Diamond boat tours scam

  I have been waiting in Benagil for 30 minutes because I have hired two kayaks and no one has shown up. I call the phone and no one answers. Do not contract with diamond tours, they have not shown up at the agreed time, they do not answer the phone and they do not answer the email. We arrived more than half an hour early at the pick-up point and no one has shown up. A scam that we have already informed get your guide, which is the page that this company offered, to inform them of the company's non-appearance.

  The correct grade would be 3.5 out of 5. They gave me this Kayak experience for my birthday, and this would be the summary: Benagil is one of the most exploited places in the entire Algarve, the queues that form of cars, people, etc. are incredibly crazy. We went by car, you can park in a paid parking lot on one side, and free parking on the other side of the cliff. In the free parking they are already offering you to rent a kayak, one of the several companies that overexploit this place. The best thing you can do is let yourself go so as not to get stressed with so many people. Once parked, we go down to the beach, there is a bar if you want to have a drink, and as soon as we get off, in front of the bathrooms there is the Diamond Tours booth (it is not signposted), but the employees are, wearing a yellow t-shirt. We went on the 10:00 excursion. Our guides were Pedro and Harry. Everything goes too fast, it is a 2-hour tour, punctually they gave us a vest, a waterproof bag and the paddles. We were able to go 3 people in a kayak. So fast that they don't explain to you how it works, or how to row efficiently, or directly to people who have never done it how to do it... but come on, I don't think any company explains it to you (I suppose if you ask they will tell you). Already in the water we were a fairly large group, you can imagine how hard it was to hear Pedro if he got too far away. The first cave is like playing bumper cars, dozens of kayaks trying to enter and exit, boats trying to approach from both sides of the cave, as I said at the beginning, overexploited... We continue and cross some more routes and caves, before ending up on the beach of the famous elephant formation. Both in the first cave and on the beach they gave us 15-20 minutes to rest. And then, back to the beginning, here Pedro took a run and disappeared ahead and Harry did remain somewhat aware of the group. When the line to pick up the kayak arrived, it reached the bar, amazing. In short, it is a highly recommended experience, best first thing in the morning, but be prepared to share the beach with hundreds of other people.

  

  

• Poor Organisation and Tour Experience

  While location was great the organisation was very poor. We were simply given a kayak and pushed out to sea with no directions on where to go, where to meet the tour guide, safety etc. The place was incredibly busy and there was an unfriendly/annoyed attitude from the guides. Very little talking from the guides about the area and clearly were just trying to get the tour over. No clear directions on how to arrive on the beach. Would recommend trying one of the other companies as this was poorly run from the start.
