  What a fantastic experience! Excellent day in the Douro Valley with an excellent and pleasant driver guide Rcardo. This is an outstanding tour of the Douro region with excellent transportation, , a fabulous and educational visit to a family estate and a delicious feast at a beautiful home with local dishes, wine and port. Ricardo provided local history and many stories during the trip to and from Porto with beautiful countryside landscapes and panoramic views in hidden places.

  What an unforgettable experience! We met Rita in Porto, and from that moment we knew we were in good hands. It led us to discover the eighth wonder of the world: the majestic Douro. The views were simply spectacular, with breathtaking landscapes and dreamy locals that looked like they were taken from a postcard. Rita has a thorough knowledge of the Douro, its history, the quintas and its vineyards. Each place we visited came alive with its stories, full of passion and detail. We had the privilege of tasting extraordinary wines — authentic jewels that reflect the richness of this land. During the tour, we ate in a traditional kitchen, with dishes cooked in cast iron, and were received with such affection that we felt at home. We recommend this experience with all elegance and conviction, to anyone who wishes to discover the soul of the Douro. The Douro Valley is breathtaking, and Rita made sure we had the best day in all our adventure in Portugal. Everything ran smoothly from the boat cruise to the visit to the winery and unforgettable lunch. I learned a lot about wine, port and the region in general. For all we experienced I believe the price is beyond reasonable. There was never an empty wine glass in front of you for long (if at all). All local guides were knowledgeable and so friendly. All exclusive and luxury attendance and places and it was great to see some small family running places. Highly recommend this tour.

  A Soulful Journey through the Douro with Ricardo Our journey from Porto to the Douro Valley was far more than a simple day trip — it was a voyage into the heart of Portugal, guided by someone truly special. Ricardo, grandson of the legendary Manoel de Oliveira, carries a remarkable presence — warm, humorous, and deeply rooted in the soul of this land. From the moment we met him, we felt welcomed as if by an old friend. His charisma and light-hearted spirit created a sense of ease, making the entire day feel both intimate and unforgettable. We traveled through some of the most stunning landscapes imaginable — rolling hills lined with terraced vineyards, sunlit valleys, and timeless views that seemed to belong to another era. Our first stop was a magnificent centuries-old estate, where we were treated to an exquisite wine tasting that spoke of tradition, craftsmanship, and passion. Later, we were invited into the home of a kind local woman, where we shared a lovingly prepared meal made from fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients. It was more than lunch — it was a cultural immersion, a feast of flavors and stories. Ricardo is not just a guide — he’s a keeper of history, a storyteller, and a bridge between past and present.
