  A fantastic experience!!! Sant'Ambrogio is a fairytale village, quiet and overlooking the sea, Giovanna is incredible and explained with passion and patience (in two languages!) the history of the mill and his family. We learned to taste the different varieties of oil, strolled through the olive trees and concluded with a genuine aperitif overlooking the sunset. I recommend it to everyone, I can not wait to return!!

  Extra virgin olive oil tour in the Cefalu area Sicily Personal, Interactive, Perfection! 1022375704 I had the great privilege to stay in Cefalu for 2 weeks at a friend's Villa; soon I'd had enough of all the touristy stuff in Cefalu. (I can only thank god that Cruise Ships don't pull in here!) As a fellow foodie and someone who lives part-time in Cefalu, my friend knew that I'd enjoy an "olive tasting experience." So she recommended Giovanna at "Living and Loving Sicily" and I could not be more grateful. Giovanna is a charming, priceless, cultural gem! First off; Giovanna's genuine Sicilian hospitality knows no bounds. She immediately makes you feel a part of her extended family. Second; Giovanna is a linguist Par Excellence. I'm trying to learn Italian, so I asked her to please "give me the lecture at about 83% Italian and the rest English." It was the single most satisfying "new language" experience I have ever had. (I'm an active gardener/farmer back home in Florida, and I happen to have about 10 juvenile olive trees growing, so the interaction with her was priceless!) She nailed the language bit; deftly and expertly switching linguistic gears to ensure my comprehension: BRAVO, MAESTRO!!! Finally, she's deeply imbued with the legend and lore and history of the local Olive industry... from 100+ years of family commitment. This is not some bored college kid reciting some written spiel. Furthermore, she conducts her taste training with the exact implements her family used for 100 years; it's clear her heart and passion has deep roots. After the history and agriculture and mechanics of olive growing, harvesting, and pressing, you move on to the TASTING portion of the experience. First she gives you a detailed hands-on sampling of 5 Sicilian Olive oils; using the exact same evaluation forms used by the top professionals when they judge the oil for world export. When you're done with the "academics" you walk just down the street to the patio of her sister's restaurant, and have a tasting meal with olive and cheeses and bread and charcuterie and a glass of chilled white; on a covered patio, draped with flowers, overlooking a million-dollar view of the Mediterranean Sea. Life rarely gets this good... and certainly never better. Worth ever DIME of the nominal charge. What I'm saying is this is a profoundly interactive, human, emotional, sensory experience that you (pretty much never) get with other, pre-planned, structured (boring) touristy crap. I'd rate it 100/100.

  Giovanna is a beautiful woman in love. She is in love with her land and her roots. From this love the "Oil Tour" was born. It is his creature to which he dedicates himself with all the energy at his disposal, despite certain difficulties and contradictions of his land and of this time. The result is 2 hours of immersion in a story built with experience and competence, enriched by a visit to the oil mill and tasting of quality oils and more. It is a true and honest story, kind but simple, without embellishment to mislead the tourist. You can meet it a few minutes from Cefalù, which the tourist guides speak highly of. They are right, but if you like to admire a pearl of Sicily today and not just that of 1000 years ago, don't miss spending a few hours on a detour from Giovanna to S.Ambrogio.
