Khor Virap
ホル・ヴィラップはキリスト教の受容と直結しており、アルメニアで最も有名な巡礼地である。 アルメニアのキリスト教は、トルダット3世王をキリスト教に改宗させる前に地下牢に幽閉された聖グレゴリウス智慧者の働きにより、301年に国教として採用され、17世紀にホル・ヴィラップ修道院の教会が建設された。 修道院からは、聖書に登場するアララト山の素晴らしい景色を眺めることができます。
The Monastery of Geghard
ゲガルド修道院は13世紀のアルメニア建築の傑出した傑作である。 複合体の教会のいくつかは巨岩に巧みに吊り下げられている。 ローマ兵がイエス・キリストの脇腹を刺すために用いたランスが、何世紀にもわたってこの修道院に保管されていたため、この複合体は初めからアイリヴァンク（洞窟修道院）と呼ばれ、後にゲガルド（槍）と改名された。 ゲガルダヴァンクは、その構造上、スピリチュアルな歌を歌うのに最適な場所となっている。 この複合施設は、微妙な彫刻的装飾に富み、多くの印象的なカッカル（十字架石）がある。 ユネスコの世界文化遺産リストに登録されている。

5.00I booked the private tour from Hyur’s official website - which is much cheaper than the one advertised on Tripadvisor (I suppose TA takes commission). The customer service contacted me three days prior to confirm the details and answered all kinds of my questions. The driver Arman was very professional and polite and went above and beyond to take me to bus station twice to purchase an intercity mini bus ticket. He couldn’t speak much English but whenever it’s something important he called his office to translate to me to make sure there is no misunderstanding. At each place, I got to spend as much time as I wanted and enjoyed the great views and architectures of the monasteries. Highly recommend this private tour to people who want to travel at their own pace.

5.00From the very first contacts via WhatsApp, we found great availability and professionalism. We requested a customized private tour, adding some stops to the tour proposed on the website, and they accommodated every one of our requests. The added value of the tour was our driver Mr. Aracel, who arrived right on time at our hotel and accompanied us with his smile and great professionalism on a wonderful day. 5.00We booked the tour 24 hours in advance, was processed fast and well. Driver Arakel was waiting for us at 8 in the morning as agreed. As we were going through different viewpoints he explained facts about history, culture, people and a lot more. We even stopped for berries to keep the energy levels high with natural sugar. Took photos of us and a lot more. Had the pleasure to share lunch together as well. Safe. Lovely. Fun. If you are visiting Armenia and want to get a tour, this is the way to do it!
