• A Food & Wine Tour That Felt Like Going Out With a Local Friend

  We had such a wonderful Food & Wine Tour with Pedro in Porto! He took us to beautiful local places (the kind of spots we would never have discovered on our own). Some were small, hidden corners, the kind of places where locals go and others were lovely private stops he had arranged for us with great views and tasting beautiful wines from small producers.(I’m a sommelier and really appreciated that!) What really stood out to us was Pedro’s passion. He didn’t just share information; he truly wanted us to understand the stories behind the food, the wine, the people and the city. I personally share wine experiences on Instagram, so I kept asking him lots of detailed questions and he answered everything with patience, enthusiasm, and genuine knowledge. Another thing we loved was seeing the personal relationships he has with the people we met along the way. You could feel that they know each other, respect each other and genuinely like each other. It didn’t feel like a standard commercial tour at all. Pedro was never watching the clock. We laughed, we learned, we tasted and we heard so many great stories. At one point, when he was explaining the story behind the sausage made with poultry, he almost turned it into a little theater performance! It was so fun and memorable 😊. Although it was a food and wine tour, we also asked him to pass by some important cultural spots and he was very flexible. So our walk also had a beautiful cultural side and once again he showed how much he knows about Porto, its history and its people. We absolutely recommend this experience. It felt like going out with a good friend who lives in Porto. Like someone who welcomes you, takes you to his favorite places, shares stories, answers all your questions and simply makes sure you have a great time.

  Everything was amazing, and Pedro knows a lot about Porto, the city and its culinary traditions. I booked the tour with a group of friends, and Pedro adapted the experience to our pace and preferences. This was one of the best experiences we’ve had in a long time while traveling through Europe. The tour lasted about half a day (approximately five hours), during which we visited some hidden gems and enjoyed delicious traditional food, all within our budget. The highlight was the pairing of the dishes with authentic Portuguese wines that are less well known but absolutely exceptional. I would definitely do this tour again. 5 stars!

  Our afternoon and evening with Pedro was fantastic. All of the food and restaurants were great - we got to try authentic Portuguese food and incredible wine. Pedro was a wonderful, entertaining and charming host with amazing knowledge of food, wine and the city itself. We would throughly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Porto

  Me and 16 friends went on a food and wine tour with Pedro and, what about? It was just perfect. Despite the large number of people, he organized the tour wonderfully, alternating authentic places of tradition with more modern and sought-after places. The wines and food we tasted on our tour stops were all delicious. Finally, Pedro is a super prepared and nice person, always available to meet customers. Absolutely recommended!!!

  Me and my husband went to visit Porto city for the first time this year. At the first day of our visit we had the pleasure to experience "Pedro & the Wine" gastronomic tour. What an unique experience! In a friendly environment, we experienced several local restaurants, diversified food and type of regional wines, always with his complete explanation about the food, the wines, and connecting it all to the portuguese culture. He also presented the Porto city and Douro region (in another day tour). It was a rich cultural experience and I'm glad we started the trip with this excursion through Porto essencials with Pedro.   It was a great experience! I have lived in Porto for 3 years and feel like I truly knew the city after the Tour Porto Essentials! Knowing the history of every corner we passed and being able to taste dishes and wines knowing the history behind it, was amazing!!! I highly recommend to those who moved to Porto and especially to the Tourists who, like me, love to know the history of the places where they pass!   Wonderful tour with awesome surprises! We tried traditional Portuguese cuisine followed by great history about Portugal and its great culture, and great wines, of course. Pedro is great and provides us an excellent experience. It’s a tour to eat, drink, learn and share moments. Loved it and highly recommend it!
