I took part in a guided tour of Verona that turned out to be a truly surprising and engaging experience. Thanks to the use of augmented reality headsets, the tour went far beyond the classic walk: it was like taking a real journey through time. Observing the virtual reconstructions superimposed on the real remains has allowed us to understand with great clarity how the temple and the city forum must have looked in Roman times. In particular, the area of the Roman Forum in Verona has come to life before our eyes, giving us back the image of a city alive, dynamic and full of daily activities. The guide, an archaeologist, proved prepared, passionate and able to explain in a simple but thorough way the history and importance of the monuments. I highly recommend this visit to those who want to discover Verona in an original and innovative way: it is a perfect combination of history and technology that makes the past incredibly close and understandable. A cultural experience that really leaves its mark.
