She explained the Golden Age of Amsterdam, and showed us examples of different types of Golden Age architecture, and lovely little Gable Stones, which we hadn’t noticed ourselves! She was happy to take photos for us, and shared her extensive knowledge of her local area. Thanks Anna for a great tour.

She was right on time to meet us and over the course of the 1.5 hour tour provided a thorough and entertaining overview of the Dutch Golden Age history and the architectural characteristics of the Amsterdam canal district. The tour was very conversational and it was a great orientation to the city and its people. Highly recommend!

5.00I’ve travelled the world and have taken tours in many, many cities but my tour with Anna ranks as one of the best. She knows everything. She’s smart and an interesting story teller that brings the words to life. I feel much more knowledgeable about Amsterdam and its architecture than I did prior to her tour. Also, I care deeply about architecture so asked pretty detailed questions about architectural minutiae and she had all the answers. Book her; you won’t regret it and you’re welcome. :)

5.00We highly recommend Anna and Artsy Tours in Amsterdam! We did the architecture walking tour and learned so much about the history of this beautiful city and the unique construction and design of the houses, churches and warehouses of the central canal district. Anna was not only knowledgeable but extremely funny and pleasant. She conveyed the right amount of information to make the tour educational and informative without being overwhelming. The next time we’re in Amsterdam we will definitely do another tour with her!

Anna brings the period to life as she shares the architectural history of the selected buildings combined with background stories of the original inhabitants. You will learn about the central city canal neighborhoods to better appreciate what was behind the development of this remarkable city. As a proud native, Anna knows Amsterdam history and shares it in a delightful manner. I will be sure to hire her for another tour when I return next year.

5.00Anna is one of the best tour guides we’ve had. Clearly knowledgeable about Amsterdam’s history, architecture and social policies, and presented it all in an accessible and fun way. Anna pointed out features of the architecture that we may have overlooked if we randomly walked the streets, and she explained others that we had seen and wondered about. The one-on-one attention we received as a small group of three was perfect because we felt comfortable asking questions about the sites we visited as well as recommendations for additional sightseeing. Cannot say enough about Anna and her Golden Age Architectural tour. Highly recommend!
