Our family (my husband, our two sons aged 12 and 15, and I) had a truly amazing time on the Yokosuka Adventure: Explore Uninhabited Island and Naval Cruise tour! From start to finish, everything was extremely well organized and thoughtfully planned. Even before our trip to Japan began, our wonderful guide Lucy reached out to us with clear details about the meeting point and what to expect. That early communication really made us feel comfortable and excited. During the tour, Lucy was incredibly well-prepared, knowledgeable, and warm – she made sure we were all taken care of and felt welcome at every moment. Having a personal guide like Lucy made a big difference. We were able to ask questions, learn about local life, and see things we would have never experienced on our own. It felt like we got a special glimpse behind the scenes of Japanese culture and history, especially in such a unique location like Yokosuka. This tour was a highlight of our time in Japan – both educational and fun for the whole family. Thank you, Lucy, for making it such a memorable adventure!

I loved the history and tranquility of the Sarushima island! The scenery was so beautiful. Especially I enjoyed the beach with clear water. Lucy navigated us so well. She is very friendly and knowledgeable. We have spent all the day laughing together! Then the Yokosuka Port Market visit must! A wide variety of local foods and souvenirs are available. Finally I really enjoyed the Naval Port Cruise. You can take a seat at any side on board because it is a round-trip inside the bay. During the Cruise, you'll have a spectacular view of Submarines and Battleships. Lucy is a lovely and attentitve guide and we've learned a lot about this port town. I recommend this tour to anyone who visit Yokosuka town!

  • Exciting trip visiting Yokosuka and Sarushima

Lucy was a wonderful guide! Friendly, witty and full of love for Yokosuka, her home town. The tour started with a short boat trip to Sarushima, giving me an immediate sense of excitement. Sarushima, being the only natural island in Tokyo Bay was rich in nature as well as sad memories of WWII. History, we must never forget. 45mins Naval Port Cruize ended in a flash as there were so much to see. Enormous, stately fleets and submarines were spectacular and overwhelming. However, I could not help praying that these ships would never have to come into full action. Yokosuka was an energetic and attractive town, with US and Japanese culture mixed together to create its own atmosphere. No wonder Lucy loves Yokosuka! For anybody interested in beautiful nature, sea and exciting naval city, this is the trip. Highly recommended!

  • Enjoyable tour with full of wonders

Lucy took us on a tour of wonders and unique, enjoyable experiences we could not have in other spots. Although I have lived in Kanagawa Prefecture for a long time, the stories and scenes she introduced during the tour were new to me, and these experiences significantly impacted me. My understanding/feeling for Yokosuka was totally renewed! The tour with a happy, thoughtful, and well-prepared guide is precious. I recommend this walking tour with Lucy to everyone visiting Yokosuka and Kanagawa Prefecture, whether or not they are first or repeated visitors.

Although we were blessed with fine weather, the view of the ship's cruise from the deck was good, but I thought it was absolutely necessary at this time of year to protect against the cold and wind. The announcement was interesting and impressive. Sarushima had a history of brick tunnels and structures. The view from the observatory was good, and I could see a large ship sailing directly through the Uraga Channel.

I enjoyed cruising around Yokosuka with Lucy looking at the U.S. and Japanese naval ships. There was only one other person in my group so it was more like a personal tour. Lucy was very personable and interested in each of us as well. I suggest having some comfy shoe because you will be walking quite a bit!

This was a great tour and Lucy was very nice and accommodating. She contacted me in advance to get some info about me. I was always interested in Yokosuka because I was born there. This gave me a chance to cruise around and see some of the US and Japanese Navy ships as well as to visit Monkey Island (no monkeys there 🙂/ there is another reason for the name). I suggest if you have some extra time go down to Yokosuka and check it out!

  • Action packed day on Monkey Island! A must if you love navy and battleships!

I went by myself and Lucy was the perfect travel guide! She was funny and told stories, very knowledgeable about history. The trip was well worth the money and it was 7 hours long! First we met up at Yokosuka Chuo station and Lucy was wearing an orange cap. We walked to the pier where we saw the first battleship Mikasa and a statue of the general. We did not have time to go in but would have been nice to see inside which I know has fee. It was misty the day we went but luckily it wasn't raining so much so at 10.30am the ferry set off to Monkey Island. When we arrived the tour was 90 minutes seeing all the parts of the island. I went inside some of the rooms which were only available exclusively to this tour. It felt like scenes from a horror movie 😄 Lucy explained the history of Monkey Island, what remains and the future. Such a beautiful and peaceful island with a pivotal past. Enjoyed a drink at the local shop to support the locals. After we boarded the ship again and went to try the Navy burger back at Yokosuka port. Good experience and since there were only two of us Lucy joined me for lunch. We walked around the streets and saw the American bars, too early to go at that time! We walked around and went to the museum which showed us the dry docks. This was a nice place, gave me free pictures to take home. After we headed to the pier and boarded Seas Friend 7, which went around the pier of the American and Japanese Naval bases. I wasn't into much about navy and Japanese history but after the trip I fell in love with the battleships. Never in my life have I see so many!! Lucy had translated the important battle ships and I saw almost all of them as it was a cloudy day so most ships appeared on the dock. There were about 5 submarines. You can also rent out a pair of binoculars for 100 yen. Towards the end Lucy won a prize but she gave it to me, so I was grateful. The tour also included chicken skewers but I opted for Taiyaki and it was good because I got to see how it was made which made the experience better. Taiyaki was also delicious. Overall I would definitely come back to visit again! This is such a hidden gem away from the normal hustle and bustle over touristic places. Our tour guide was invaluable and you cannot plan something like this yourself. I took many pictures but you'll have to go experience it yourself!!
